Wow Jerry should cash in and make a lot of Cowboys fans happy. I don’t care though… Romo broke me when he bungled the snap vs Seattle. Literally made me quit watching football. I was born in 95 so I was too young to remember any success. I have no clue how Kings fans do it. Anyways, my brother in law born in 98 was broken this year. I started watching NFL with him again this year. I’m not proud of it but we decided to become Bengals fans. In our defense, we picked them after the wild card so it’s not like we were bandwagoning the runner ups.
Holy shit the board is dead this time of year.

Yup, the lull right after NBA FAgency and just before the NFL exhibition season. Don't follow MLB until the playoffs.

It's sad that Romo's legacy will be that snap. I put that on Parcells for putting your starting QB in that position and it was most likely a mind game from Bill to try to keep Tony grounded. I'll always remember Romo for the punctured lung game against San Francisco. They guy was a warrior and a magician. It's just too bad Jerry could never put enough of a team around him to let him have more success. He's a much better QB on the field now than what they grossly overpaid. I wish you could merge Dak's leadership qualities with Tony's ability.
I do think the Cowboys are starting to lose some of their appeal as far a other players wanting to come play for them, but there is no way the Jones family is ever going to sell. The biggest hope is that once Stephen takes over that he takes a step back from how Jerry runs things. I doubt it. They are still miles ahead of Cuban which is sad.
Micah Parsons is the truth though. He could go down as an all time great with his toolset.

The Miami Dolphins owner was suspended for a time and the Dolphins forfeited a first next year and a third the following year because the Dolphins had impermissible communications with Tom Brady this summer.
I personally believe everyone in the NBA tampers. Showing up at a Dallas playoff game was a little extreme imo. I would love to see the NBA come down hard and have them forfeit a first round pick or something like that if they find anything improper. Maybe take way the Dallas pick, therefore we can start trading first round picks starting in '24. We wouldn't get the pick back, but that pick goes up in smoke.
If you are going to investigate and find some questionable behavior, make the penalty hurt a little.

DET has now closed up shop on using their cap room in some splashy way. Rats. So much for my Big Trade fantasies centered on THJ-for-Burks.
But it's likely that DET will let go of a PG or 2 that the Mavs can add as a backup. From the numbers, it looks like Lee, Walker, or both could be released (although if Lee has any appeal around the league, he could get scooped up as a waiver claim by someone, and require the Mavs to swap for him rather than wait for him to be a FA).

I am really interested to see this Clippers team next year. On paper, they are just so deep. They have one big to bang with the centers for a time, but the rest of their team is basically long and skilled players. I forgot who it was but Zach Lowe a few weeks ago was talking about one of their players and thought he could eventually be moved during the season for an all in move since Ballmer doesn't care about the tax. They just don't have a lot of holes though if everyone is healthy. They also have a few younger players they like that could eventually be cheap replacements.
Someone is going to lose out on minutes though that is used to getting plenty of minutes.

It is interesting. What is the plan for the new agency. Someone I found interesting listening to a few podcasts is how many agents fear once your client signs a minimum level deal, it is tough to change that perception and you will always be considered a minimum guy. I am sure their are exceptions.
The thinking with Russ is if he is eventually traded, there is a good chance he is bought out. Then he may be in that minimum discussion. The best bet would be to stay in LAL and rebuild his value. But many think that is a lost cause and it may be.
I am just wondering what focus new representation will take to maximize future value.

Imo, there's reason for apprehension about our Mavs' near future, but there's no denying the greatness that was last season. If, like me, you need an excuse to look backwards instead of forwards with your Mavs time, I highly recommend this Suns live feed of game 7. Delicious.

I am sort of surprised with this. I thought the tea leaves were leading to him keeping his options open. The Lakers are in a real tough spot. I hope no one helps them. Irving may be a loon, but that could be a short term out for him if he lands in LAL. The Lakers have ways of walking into miracles. I think getting something for Westbrook is their only way they see light. At Lebron's age, it is tough counting on him. He was great last year though. If he is great this year and AD plays to his talent, that is a good start. But it is not enough in the tough west. I hope no one gives them a get out of jail free card.
I have also been playing with Lebron moving and not going back to Clev but coming to Dallas to end his career. Too complicated to work and risky due to age, but throw him in with the rest of the team and that could be fun.

No, that one will never be broken. I would sooner expect someone to score 100 points in a game again before anyone ever averages 48.5 mpg for a season again.
