As for what Perot does or doesn't share in, that's going to be controlled by Cuban, not Perot. That's the nature of majority ownership, versus minority. Perot is simply the tail on the dog, being wagged and following behind.
Oh well I stand corrected!

There are a few other minority owners besides Perot, but I don't know all their names or their percentages. That sort of stuff usually tends to be private.
I think Todd Wagner (Cuban's long-time business partner) owns a slice, and some of the Minyard family another slice. And then Perot (unless he has been bought out.) Maybe that's all, maybe not. That sort of stuff usually tends to be private.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Of course someone "would take" him. I have no doubt that they tried to trade him, but didn't get it done. Probably didn't like the deals on the table, fine.
But this is PRO SPORTS. The goal is to WIN. To win on the court, you need to win on the phones, at the negotiation table, in the press, on the talking head shows, in the advertising world, selling suites at the arena, etc, etc, etc.
I DO NOT CARE about the excuses that led us to this place. I only care that being at this place, here and now, is damaging to the team's competitive prospects in the near future and might have effects on the team that last much longer than we can now imagine.
The Mavs need a front office that doesn't TRY. They need to start SUCCEEDING. Maybe you're right, and maybe it's all in the process of improving. I honestly don't know the answer to that right now, and as you know, I liked a great of what they've done recently. I think that Porzingis deal was one of the more realistic, mature, business like decisions this franchise has ever made. But this Brunson thing SUCKS. It's not ok.
Yeah, this isn't Little Leage T-Ball. You don't get points for effort. This is the most prestigious basketball league in the world, if Cuban can't put his money where his mouth is he needs to shut the hell up and sell the team.
Strike 1- the KP experiment being a bust
Strike 2- Letting Brunson go for NOTHING
Strike 3... Luka's gone

If anybody is interested...
One national sports network did a "Winners and Losers" article for day 1 of free agency.
They rated Brunson a winner for getting a pile while never making the ASG.
They rated NYKs a loser for making Brunson their big signing splash.

I am still waiting for @"KillerLeft" promise to go scorched earth on us. That´s the biggest disappointment of the last two days.

Seems harsh. They got who they targeted after years of chasing the top names. They certainly improved their team. It might be a bit of an overpay but the contract structure smart.

I don't blame Brunson one bit here. And I don't want to hear one report the Mavs didn't get a chance to make an offer.
Mavs need to take a long look in the mirror why they aren't attractive to free agents and why they appear to piss off their own players. Until they take a long look at themselves it will not change.

I called him out on not following theough last year! I will say, he’s for sure not been normal KL the last couple days, but to your point, it hasn’t been “scorched earth”. However, his definition of that might differ from ours!!!

This is about as Scorched Earth as I know how to get on a message board. I guess I'm doing it wrong.

You have to embrace the toxicity. Let it flow through you. Let it consume you.

Probably for the better. If all of us would lash out like me on day one of free agency this board would turn into a battleground.

I am 100% correct about everything I've typed recently, as usual. It doesn't feel "toxic" to me. But, whatever it is, I am consumed by it, and I have been dishing it out. I guess I oversold it a bit beforehand, sorry.

You speak for a lot of us. I appreciate your passion and share your frustration. I don’t express things as eloquent as you, so I’ll just “like” your posts in agreement.

As far as what has happened? I was properly prepared like DS for this outcome. Didn’t think it would happen, but was prepared none the less. Some of ghe “way” it happened is also par for the course in a typical Mavs offseason. I had hopes Nico would change that narrative. I still have hopes for that, just have to wait a little longer I guess.
This offseason more than many of the previous ones, in my mind, needs to be wait and see how their vision shows out on the court. Only day 2 of FA. Still the possibility of more change!

Pretty much sums up my thoughts even though I was more hopeful when it comes to JB. If anything the last few years lowered my expectations to the point where it is hard to disappoint.
In the past the damage control part of the offseason (after the initial plan failed) was better than I expected. Right now I am clinging to the hope that the addition of McGee sets up a trade that features Powell.
