How did we say he’s as good? I worded specifically to not pin down any firm opinion since I’m not as familiar with either as I am with Mavs players. Was just giving what was asked which was “White has been coming up alot lately, can I get a rundown of who that is?”
You were welcome to answer that question yourself, I tried my best with what I know and provided links to parse more info if wanted. Also, I’m just chillin, what’s up with you?

As a team trying to rebuild, I'd think the Spurs would prefer to keep the few talents they have, and try to add to them rather than give them away. He is a Spur starter, and I've seen no indication they are hoping to move him. There's no threat of Spurs losing him sometime soon in free agency. Did I miss something?
"“The Spurs have to figure out where they want to be as a franchise and what their plan is moving forward. They’re kind of stuck in the middle right now. Murray and Derrick White could both be gettable, according to league sources.”"
- Zach Harper, The Athletic
There are actually a fairly good number of articles out there with White included in trade packages. That is going to happen though when a national writer like Harper says what he said. There are other articles suggesting SA would be better with White coming off the bench (at $15mm?). At 27, he is older than most of SA's rebuilding assets. He's also in the way of some of those young guys getting minutes (Walker, Vassell and now Primo can all get minutes at White's position). SA also added Hutchinson and Forbes to an already crowded back-court. Seems like a lot if you plan to also keep White.
The Spurs were dead last in both 3 point attempts and makes last season and made 35% of their 3's finishing 24th in the NBA. White doesn't help there. And, he missed half of last season with injury. I'm with you, if this misses the mark, it is more likely that Powell, Green and taking Aminu into our TPE misses the mark as not being enough outgoing from Dallas. But, I also note the buildup of guards and the fact nothing has gone official yet with some of their deals. I'm not SA sure needs White or the two Dallas players I've suggested as outgoing (see the roster below). It might be that both are headed to Chicago (who also needs depth at C) with Markkanen coming to SA. Put LM in Powell's place and remove Green and the SA roster makes a lot of sense.
Murray/Forbes/T. Jones
Walker/Hutchinson/Primo/Green
McDermott/Vassell/KBD
K. Johnson/T. Young/Samanic
Poeltl/Powell/Z. Collins

That makes more sense and less. I can see why Powell is included now.
But I don't want this player. It's Delon/JRich again.
About the centers. We have a four bigs rotation of KP, Powell, Maxi and WCS. We will see DFS get some time at the 4 against some teams and Boban will fill in if needed.
That's rather thin to me as I expect KP to sit out some btbs at least. If we give away Powell, we need another playable PF.
Your posts make more sense now. I think White is a good level above those two in terms of D and ball handling and overall impact. But, the 3 point shooting makes the comparison relevant. But, he is really good attacking the basket and hit almost .489 from the corner last season...unfortunately that was only about 42 attempts, so a couple of misses would have made a big difference. If he was a .400 shooter from 3, he'd be making mid-twenty's, not mid-teens.
I've long pointed out that any team that employs KP has to carry an extra viable center for rest and injury. I think PF is largely taken by DFS and Maxi. Without Powell, you have WCS/Moses/Boban all backing up KP. I think that is plenty of roster space being used for that purpose.

I'm pretty sure I can't say what any players defense will look with us. I'm not really concerned about the 3P%.
But he doesn't show the level of aggression I want to see next to Luka.
The Slovenians looked for a shoot/drive the moment they got the ball, if it wasn't there they circled back. I want that on the Mavs to.
Regarding PF, I want Maxi to play less minutes.
And If you're starting WCS backed up by Boban, what can go wrong.
Feels like a circle, I say "We need DP(replacement) because the others won't get it done" and you say "but they use so many roster spots on Centers".

I think you are going to be on a lonely island if you are suggesting we need Powell as much or more than a true secondary playmaker that can run the second unit. I get the Wright/JRich concerns and I honestly don't know if Derrick would have similar fit issues.
Honestly, I tend to agree with Gump. I would love to get White, more than Dragic assuming he is not another JRich, but skeptical the Spurs have any interest in giving him up.

I would be perfectly fine with WCS and Brown as back-up centers. I rather bring in another versatile PF than one dimensional overpaid centre.

Anyone know who the guy is in the black t-shirt and the blue pull-over? The guy in black looks like someone you don't want to mess with. Also, nobody looks vary happy in the pics.

I want both. A PF and a playmaker.
I'd prefer Coby White to Derrick White.

Cuban: Oh s***, he knows about our free agency. You didn´t tell me they had the interwebs in Slovenia.
Kidd: F*** what do we do. Think head coach think, we need a game plan.

Even Dirk looks unhappy. Hoping that has something to do with the long flight!
Thank you Donnie.

They all just got off a transatlantic flight. Everyone looks like that after 8-12 hours on an airplane.

Yeah -- international flights suck.
While the extra guys could very well be coaches or trainers I don't recognize, I would also expect some lawyers or accountant types to be present any time people are signing a contract worth $200mm.
