Is Charlotte seriously paying 3 SRP for freaking Reggie Jackson? Or is this just worded poorly and the picks are coming from Denver to Charlotte?

Ok, they already corrected it. Denver is the one paying three picks. Now we can get a feeling how much of a cost we are speaking about when dumping 16 mil of THJ (Jackson is paid 5 mil).

The Denver Nuggets are heading into free agency $18 million below the $189.5 million second apron with 11 players after trading Reggie Jackson to Charlotte and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope opting out.

If the objective is to re-sign Caldwell-Pope and field the roster while staying below the second apron, they'll need to reduce more salary to accomplish that.

Yeah I arrived at either we S/W THJ or it´s a bigger deal. Just dumping THJ for air seems far too costly.

You do realize we don't HAVE to do the THJ right now...right?

Looking at their roster, Zeke Nnaji is the only possible candidate to further reduce salaries. Way overpaid at almost 9 mil.

DEN paid 3 second round picks to move off of 5 million of Reggie Jackson's PO.

Seems like DEN is desperate to open up money to resign KCP.

Denver are in a tougher financial situation than ours and they're more desperate for a relief, even a minor one, so they got overcharged imho.

Because no one in the league knows that Mavs first priority is to clear space for DJJ Smile

Keep getting locked, but… Denver is trading the Nuggets’ own seconds in 2025, 2029 and 2030 to Charlotte of move off Reggie Jackson’s $5.2 million salary for next season, league sources told @YahooSports.

Which shows you that 2nd apron is real. Well played by the owners. Luckily the new CBA was just signed and the cap will increase further or some players group would get real mad. My guess from early observations will be the veterans. Maybe it´s time to get ready for their next sport-washing project: Saudi Arabia National Basketball League, where old NBA players get put down for greener ($$$) pastures.
