That's true. The Mavs need a mouthpiece and Stein is perfect.

But I get that could be a cover play by the Mavs. They need a megaphone. If it is, it's a good play. I'm all for it. And I'm guessing it's real.

I think it was done to keep him but retain flexibility and to be in position of strength.  I think in time he will be moved.  Not sure if it is at the trade deadline, a year from now or in 2 years.   I don't think he is here for the start of 27 season.
