Charlotte is a team that makes sense, Biyombo is their only center at the moment and they desperately want to compete. Zeller, Monk and whatever more is needed makes sense. Other than that, I just don't know. Washington could use a center but they don't have the contracts unless Cleveland is taking Westbrick. Could Sacramento think Drummond is an upgrade over gettting rid of Barnes overpay and Holmes? (01-14-2021, 01:48 PM)Tyler Wrote: It definitely doesn't sound like he'll be in Houston very long. Iguodala plus whatever assets Miami has left (Nunn perhaps as a start) makes a lot of sense. Charlotte seems like a very Drummond place to go. They also have the right kind of meh assets to make it seem worthwhile for CLE on the surface. He'd actually fit pretty dang well in Charlotte too. Mavs should be all over trying to be the 3rd team to take Iggy so the Rockets don't have to. Perfect vet dude who only needs to play 15-20 mins a night. Perfect vet dude who only needs to play 15-20 mins a night. Nah. He's washed. Maybe it's time for the Mavs to enter the Dipo sweepstakes. RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA not planning to pause season for COVID - Mavs2019 - 01-14-2021 Here is my ingenious plan to make it all work. Hoping that I actually got the pick ramifications right. Johnson + Brunson + Terry + 2022 1st round pick swap + remove top 10 protection from 2023 1st round pick for Randle (+ one of Ntilikina/DSJ) Now you are free to immediately trade THJ and all your unprotected future 1sts for Beal, Lavine or anybody else. Cuban better get the chequebook out. RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA not planning to pause season for COVID - omahen - 01-14-2021 Houston is a much better team without Harden. RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA not planning to pause season for COVID - dirkfansince1998 - 01-14-2021 Myles Turner is averaging prime Ben Wallace numbers this season. 4.2 blks/ 1.5 stls. Already with 3blks and 1stl in the first half against the Blazers. How did that happen? RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA not planning to pause season for COVID - SleepingHero - 01-14-2021 Honestly feel like we're getting lulled a bit into some fools gold right now. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, but during this quick turnaround here are some stats THJ's last 8 games: 20.3 ppg, on 48.3/44.2./70. 44% 3pt shooting from one of the streakiest guys in the league!! Thats Curry level of shooting. DFS last 4: shooting 45.5/38.1/66.7 10ppg Burke: shooting 43.6/45.5/75 Kleber is shooting 47% from 3 on the season! Basically all the guys that weren't shooting very well suddenly became some of the hottest shooters in the league. Especially THJ. I'm expecting THJ to fall back down to Earth. The only question is will it be a graceful fall or a plummet? In that sense, I think the Mavs still need to upgrade. Kyle Lowry would be an avenue I'd be staring at if I was the Mavs. Perhaps TOR is ready to rebuild? RE: AROUND the NBA: NBA not planning to pause season for COVID - dirkfansince1998 - 01-14-2021 (01-14-2021, 11:27 PM)SleepingHero Wrote: Honestly feel like we're getting lulled a bit into some fools gold right now. Mavs rank 22nd in 3-point percentage. THJ already was a 7 attempts per game / 40% 3-point shooter last season. Don´t expect a huge decline. Kleber and Burke are both shooting way better than their career numbers. Burke already had an off night and as streaky as he is he will probably continue to have three 1-2/7-8 games for every good game. Kleber´s shot is looking better than ever but the numbers probably aren´t sustainable. But that´s only half the story because the rest of the roster has been shooting really bad. All players have hot and cold streaks. Some are more streaky than others but even the very best have off nights. The Mavs started the season ice cold and the numbers are slowly going up. DFS: 37.6% last season / 32.6 this season / 33% career Brunson: 35.8 % last season / 31.8% this season / 35% career Richardson: 34.1% last season / 32% this season / 36.2% career Doncic: 31.6% last season / 27.3% this season / 31.8% career Iwundu: 34.1% last season / 14.3% this season / 31.3% career Johnson: 36.3% last season / 28.6% this season / 30.9% career Overall most guys are underperforming, not overperforming but I agree that without Curry and more minutes for better defenders with mediocre percentages the 3-point shooting probably won´t reach last seasons level. That is obviously not great but I think the coaches expected a slight decline when they decided to surround Luka with better defenders. His career/age is the wrong timeline for this set of Mavs. So is his contract, unless he gets to the summer and wants an MLE deal. But there's still that age issue.
