RE: AROUND the NBA: Dec 22 Tip-Off, 72 gms | Harden no-showed HOU practice - Benskix2 - 12-10-2020

That's like expecting a baby not to cry in church.

I am for the Heat or Raptors.

I really don´t understand why the NBA did not allow additional roster spots this year. They adjusted the active game day roster and two-way deals.
Would have been easy to come to an agreement about something like COVID exceptions. For example giving each team two one year minimum slots for players that can be called up as a replacement in case of an outbreak.

Really like Maledon....would have preferred him over Tyrell on draft night (though Tyrell is growing on me). This is a great contract for a 2nd round pick. Will be interested to follow Maledon's career.

Maybe they'd allow 10-day contracts specific for these.  Ones that don't become guaranteed for the rest of the year if given consecutively.

Sounds like MKE is getting desperate to get GA's signature on an extension.

If they are looking at trading Middleton to a 3rd team, who are they offering to HOU?

I imagine they're trying to get a Jrue Holiday level package for Middleton that they could then forward to Houston for Harden. I love Middleton, but I have a tough time seeing that happen.

That said -- in a Giannis-free world, Middleton is exactly the type of player I'd be happy for Dallas to get in on if he's available.

I see what MKE is trying to do, but it seems like there will not be much behind the 3 stars and not much time or ammo to fill in the blanks.

DAL basically did this a few years ago when landing KP, but that was a lost season anyway and it was all about positioning for Luka's future. MKE would be more about winning NOW and if it doesn't work, then you're sort of stuck until you unload some big contracts.

Milwaukee has extremely difficult task for that trade, as they are right at the hard cap. I guess the only avenue they could explore would be trading Middleton to another contender for a very good young player. A team, that would not welcome Harden but appreciate Middleton.

Would Denver be prepared to pay MPJ and a pick or two? Atlanta really needs a top wing and have a PF logjam - would Collins and a couple of firsts satisfy Houston? How about Chicago with a combination of two players Markannen/White/WCJ? GSW could get rid of Wiggins by trading Wiseman and a couple of picks - Middleton would be much better for them than Harden. Minnesota also has a bunch of young assets. DiVinzenzo and all remaining Milwaukee 2nd rounders can go to Houston.

All that being said. I don't really understand, why would Milwaukee want Harden.
