RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - SleepingHero - 06-11-2021 (06-11-2021, 02:26 PM)Chicagojk Wrote: Was that really KD's body guard???? I saw that and he came in and was physical and was lucky that did not escalate things. I thought it was a arena or league guard. If that was KD's personal guard there should be harsh punishment to the team for that. If anything does happen it'll probably result in a hefty fine or suspension of the employee. If KD's body guard is employed by the Nets, then isn't any difference between KD's body guard or an assistant coach coming to break up a fight. Nothing is going to happen. RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - ClutchDirk - 06-11-2021 Ibaka just had back surgery... Bet he gets paid handsomely too. That's easy money, who's gonna mess with KD? RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - Scott41theMavs - 06-11-2021 Am I the only one who wants to see the Sixers smash the hell out of the Hawks the rest of the way? If nothing else, I have to root for Seth, one of my favorite Mavs of the past ten years. Not his fault the Mavs flushed him down the toilet (if Tiger doesn't turn into Matrix 2.0). RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - HoosierDaddyKid - 06-11-2021 Embiid is dominating them, and they figured out how to defend Trae Young. RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - dirkfansince1998 - 06-11-2021 Aaron Gordon is a liability. Suns are giving him the Giannis/Simmons treatment. Leaving him wide open on the 3-point line and he cannot take advantage. He's having a nightmare game. He's having a nightmare game. He is the worst player on the floor in the most important game of the Nuggets season. 2 pts, 4 reb, 4 tov, 4 fouls, 1-9 FG in 32 minutes. Just brutal. Hampton, Harris and a 1st. I guess he looked better when Murray was healthy and he could focus on defense but he needs to give them some kind of production on offense. RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - KillerLeft - 06-11-2021 I can't handle Caruso in a Mavericks uniform. He's on the irrational hate list for me. Do me a solid, everyone, and don't speak that one into existence. Same for McConnell. RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - HoosierDaddyKid - 06-11-2021 (06-11-2021, 11:33 PM)dirkfansince1998 Wrote: Rather have McConnell. He's scrappy and is always around the ball. He was 2nd in steals behind Jimmy Butler. Pacers could resign him though. Stick a fork in Denver, they're done. Although IMO if the Mavericks are targeting this level of player this offseason, they are doing it wrong. Improve your starters (2nd-5th best players) and not work around the edges. RE: AROUND the NBA: Jokic wins MVP | Luka 6th - DanSchwartzgan - 06-12-2021 (06-11-2021, 11:22 PM)KillerLeft Wrote: I can't handle Caruso in a Mavericks uniform. He's on the irrational hate list for me. Do me a solid, everyone, and don't speak that one into existence. With that said, he does meet Rick's rugged-defender who can knock down 3's and move the ball around a little definition. I think Caruso's tenacity (versus JRich's timidity) would have been enough to win the LAC series. The A&M product has been a net positive On/Off every year in his career averaging 5.1 per year (Dorian was the only 1000 minute Mav who beat that number this season). He's in the 87th percentile on C&S 3's (he's not good a pull up 3's, but won't be asked to take many here). He's in the 80th percentile in Playmaking Talent (according to BBall-Index). But what you are getting more than anything is good point-of-attack D. He takes the other team's ball handler/scorer when he's in the game (usually off the bench). He's in the 82nd percentile for the percentage of time he takes the other teams primary ball handler and the 82nd percentile for the percentage of time he spends covering Tier 1 Usage players. LAL was 4.6 points better defensively with him on the floor. LA's D-Rating is 101.7 when Caruso plays. That is the best on the team among players who played at least 20 games at 15 minutes per game there. He's in the following percentiles for the following D-Ratings: 98th D-LEBRON 96th D-Raptor 96th LA DRAPM 89th D-LEBRON Box I was going to write up a big piece on Devonte Graham, but I can't decide what the advanced stats are telling me about his D. Some metrics are really nice and some are just awful. The data is consistently good on Caruso. If you don't want to chase old man Danny Green, this isn't a bad way to go to get this archetype. Caruso isn't the $20 million guy we hope to get, but he would help. If he were to agree to a deal here, LA would have almost no choice but to take back an opted-in JRich if that is what happens. Oh, I agree. Don't think Phoenix would be having they're way if Murray was there. |
