Now Mavs only need to spend cash to buy a second rounder or two, and I am satisfied with the summer so far. Far from over though, Mavs still need a big wing, imho.

hell, they might not even be depending on playing him. The more I learn about the rookie they just got, the more I think he's worth just absorbing a terrible contract to get. I no longer care about the Holmes part. If he can play here, GREAT!

Holmes is a decent reclamation project and could get big minutes in the short term considering the state of our rotation.

So true.

We must have some TPE left, so we could potentially eat $6-8M in bad salary, which should be enough for a 2nd round pick. Cody Martin 7.6 from the Hornets.  New owners like a clean slate. Vukcevic at #34?

Holmes starts, I assume. Kammrath would love this.

This is better for Lively too. I thought he would start, but now they can bring him along at a better pace.

Kings can get up to over $30M in cap space now.

Kings gonna get Kuzma

If Miller and Sensabaugh go to the Nuggets. Ugh.

I’ll be darned. I’ll admit, didn’t love the Lively pick. After the Whitmore slide, it was probably the right move. Just listening to Followell and Dameris on OMP, watched some video…I’m jazzed. Love bringing in Holmes. 3 dudes over 6’6”. No freaking way. OMP had 90 college games. Ready to play now. Lights out defender. #1 FG allowed % on jumpers in NCAA last year. 25%. They’ve turned my frown upside down

As much as his contract sucked, I liked Bertans mindset when he played. Thank you for your service.

Love the move. OMP is a great pickup and Holmes can bounce back in a better situation.

Well in that case, should have extracted #38, too. Maybe Barnes for the MLE is a *wink wink* here.

That cunt Danny Ainge.

Some of the write up on Omax from the Athletic
************
Prosper has enormous measurements for a bigger wing. Came in at nearly 6-foot-7 without shoes at the combine with a massive 7-foot-1 wingspan. These are the exact kind of measurements teams look for in the wing position, as opposed to guys more in the 6-foot-5 range. Also helps that Prosper is a good athlete. Has some vertical pop as a leaper and is a very fluid mover for his size laterally. He elevates quickly and covers ground very quickly with his long strides. Those tools are best utilized on defense right now. Slides his feet exceedingly fluidly for a player with these measurements, which allows him to be a real defensive stopper on the wing. Very switchable across the positional spectrum, with the capability of playing one through four due to this size and quickness. Has tremendous defensive fundamentals. Stays low in his stance and keeps his arms high or outstretched to disrupt the opposing team. It didn’t matter the assignment, he was great. Managed well against a physical, athletic wing like Cam Whitmore and didn’t let him get to the rim. Defended a crafty bigger guard like Colby Jones and held him in check, making him inefficient. Also did a great job against slippery off-ball wing Jordan Hawkins, shutting him down while chasing him around a variety of screening actions. Great at using his length and strength to wall up. Absorbs contact well. Really tough to go through him. That results in opponents trying to shoot over the top of him, which is a win for his team because his length allows him to contest jumpers and make them exceedingly difficult. But he also really manages screens well. Marquette played versatile coverages this past season, and Prosper thrived in them. He is excellent for a bigger body at locking and trailing off the ball or fighting over the top on the ball if necessary, using his length to contest from behind in a big way. Knows the exact routes to take to avoid contact while staying attached. All of this makes him an intriguing chess piece at that end. You can play Prosper as a stopper on the ball. You can switch ball screens with him. You can play in drop and have him chase and recover over the top. He’s going to be quite valuable on that end. Offensively, Prosper is probably best right now without the ball out in tran

Also falls in line regarding #10 value from recent years.

Bertans guaranteed money 22m. Holmes guaranteed money 22m. Pretty slick dealing.

Doncic 24
Green 22
Hardy 20
O-Max 20
Lively 19

Mavs finished the last season as the 3rd oldest team in the league (on average). Already safe to say that they will enter the next season with a way younger roster.
