In KD's defense, there has been a LOT (!) of the drama that's being generated not by him doing or saying anything, but by reports that "NBA insiders say ..." or "a front office executive said ..." or the like. Stein, as great as he is, wrote an article that seemed to say KD would retire if he didn't get traded, and Stein had to walk it back with another article, basically saying "KD said nothing and I didn't mean it that way" because KD didn't say anything like that at all. He didn't say a word, just people making "news" out of wild-ass stupid ideas someone anonymous somewhere is willing to say.
