@"Kammrath" all sorts of Twitter activity today about how jacked Vassell's shot looks these days. Maybe he does fall a bit, after all?

What a great question. I bet there is.

Can't speak to their relationship, or lack thereof, but here is some documentation of their time together on Team Germany.

@"Kammrath" is there a place where we can read which teams are visiting with which players?

Not that I am aware of. It seems everything is fluid and changing day to day. The teams were NOT going to be able to meet any players in person and now they can do individual workouts for the next month. I am REALLY wanting the measurements to come out but haven't seen even one yet.

RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (In-Person Workouts: Oct 16 - Nov 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - KillerLeft - 10-15-2020

I read somewhere today that Phoenix has met with k Lewis twice already.

The last two weeks teams have been able to do virtual meetings. That is what has been going on.

From what I read, I took it like they had already started the in person visits, and had already spent two of them on Lewis. But, you might be right. I might have just assumed incorrectly.

Shams said in-person is allowed Oct 16 - Nov 16 and teams can only do 10 I think.

RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (In-Person Workouts: Oct 16 - Nov 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Mavs2019 - 10-17-2020

Tyler Bey´s 3pt jumpshot looks like it could translate as well to the NBA as a certain Justin Anderson did.

After Luka, I´m more convinced than ever, that if I wanted to judge a players shooting ability, I´d just put him in awkward situations and let him do trick shots. Halfcourt, lay-ups with spin and creative stuff.

Honestly I´d just let Dirk/Holger run a draft prospect through their typcial workout unprepared. All of them can do the regular draft workouts in their sleep. I wonder if the Mavs ever did/do that. I bet there is a chance Justin Anderson can make 10 threes in a row to fool you, but you let him do one 360 spin from the right to the middle, finishing with a one-legged right handed shot against the body rotation from the FT line, he´d probably airball it, because he can´t get the coordination right.

RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (In-Person Workouts: Oct 16 - Nov 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Kammrath - 10-17-2020

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/10/draft-notes-pro-days-no-1-pick-williams-quickley.html

Quote:The NBA’s new pre-draft rules aren’t popular with several teams, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN, who states that at least half the league is considering not having executives attend workouts and may have just a “minimal presence” at pro days.

Givony says many front offices don’t believe it’s worth making a trip to watch a prospect work out by himself, and some of the teams are located in states that require a mandatory two-week quarantine for travelers. There’s also concern that an executive might contract COVID-19 and not be available on draft night. Also, some teams are reluctant to give away any secrets by providing the league with a list of the 10 players they would most like to scout.

The league office has received requests to alter its new rules, Givony adds, but complications will remain even if that happens. He notes that agents will have difficulty scheduling more than three or four teams each day for a workout, an in-person interview and then a 30-minute medical exam. Teams with high lottery picks are expected to be most active in trying to attend those sessions.

There’s more draft news to pass along:
 • Givony talked to several teams that confirm Minnesota has been involved in trade talks regarding the No. 1 pick. Agents who represent players that are expected to be taken early say Timberwolves general manager Gersson Rosas has been “noncommittal” about what he plans to do and seems open to moving down. Givony adds that LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards are still the most likely candidates for the top pick, but the team’s uncertain ownership status may play a role in its draft plans.

 • In the same story, ESPN’s Mike Schmitz identifies Patrick Williams of Florida State as the player making the biggest jump on draft boards. The 19-year-old handles the ball well for his 6’8″ size and could wind up being selected in the top 10. Schmitz also sees potential in Washington’s Jaden McDaniels, while Givony names Kansas center Udoka Azubuike as a possible sleeper.

 • Kentucky guard Immanuel Quickley has met twice with the Knicks, Pistons and Thunder and has held one meeting with several other teams, including the Nets and Celtics, tweets Adam Zagoria of Forbes.

Devon Dotson looks like the typical Donnie/Mavs pick. Small PG with a veteran skillset and winning intangibles. Basically the next Jalen Brunson. Makes sense to pick him if we are just talking about "best pick available" in the early 2nd round but the Mavs really don´t need another undersized guard.
