Somehow, my edited addendum didn't go through - I was saying that, I'm a huge believer in trading up in this draft. Ball, Edwards, Toppin, and Hayes should go between 1 and 9, meaning that one of the guys in my first list - all of whom, I believe, will be plug-and-play players from day one - would be available. If Toppin or Hayes ends up being the number 10, we could just draft S. Bey, whom I believe has just slightly less potential than the six I have above. But Okongwu, Vassell, Haliburton, Okoru, or Avdija - wow. If we could get 10 for Brunson, 18, and 31, then hell yeah. If not, at least package 18 and 31 to move up a few slots and have a better choice of players. Then buy 26 for another set of pretty good options.

I really like wing four possibilities like Achiuwa. If the Mavs' on-paper idea is to let KP retain his current role and start Powell at the four (throwing up in my mouth a little), then it isn't that hard to upgrade him in his current condition with someone like Achiuwa.
I need to revise my draft board to include Lewis and Bane. Lewis would be in the 18 category and Bane the one below.

Seems to be the case for a lot of people. Including experts. Might be because they watched Adebayo (similar body type) dominate in the playoffs.

Was thinking of moving Green up my board, but nah. Very good defender, quite raw offensively. If he eventually became your starter, you would need an elite three who could playmake and create his own shot.

"Better" is pretty broad and can mean a number of things. Russell Westbrook is "better" than a number of players, but his game doesn't translate to winning. In any event, I think that Maxey is clearly a difference-maker on defense in a way that Brunson is not, so I think Maxey would fit the Mavs better than Brunson does *in that sense.* In everything else? Brunson might be better for the Mavs.

So try to put aside your previous knowledge and assumptions and watch Ty-Shon Alexander and Tyrese Maxey side by side and tell me what you think. I am getting to the point where I would just flat out take Ty-Shon over Maxey.
