RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Kammrath - 10-07-2020 I accidentally omitted Abdoulaye N'Doye from the bottom of my board as a 2nd round pick target. RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Scott41theMavs - 10-07-2020 Somehow, my edited addendum didn't go through - I was saying that, I'm a huge believer in trading up in this draft. Ball, Edwards, Toppin, and Hayes should go between 1 and 9, meaning that one of the guys in my first list - all of whom, I believe, will be plug-and-play players from day one - would be available. If Toppin or Hayes ends up being the number 10, we could just draft S. Bey, whom I believe has just slightly less potential than the six I have above. But Okongwu, Vassell, Haliburton, Okoru, or Avdija - wow. If we could get 10 for Brunson, 18, and 31, then hell yeah. If not, at least package 18 and 31 to move up a few slots and have a better choice of players. Then buy 26 for another set of pretty good options. RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Kammrath - 10-07-2020 Here is @"Scott41theMavs"'s board for those in "light mode": Trade-up Targets (if they slip to #10 or lower). Offer Brunson and 31. 1) Okongwu 2) Vassell 3) Haliburton 4) Okoru 5) Avdija 6) Wiseman Trade-up targets (if they slip to 12 or lower) 18 + 31 packaged All of the above, plus 7) S. Bey 8) Achiuwa 9) Smith 10) Terry 11) Hayes Draft at #18 Targets. Wouldn’t trade up for them. If they reach #18, we draft them. All of the above, plus 12) Green 13) Maxey 14) Hampton 15) Reed 16) Anthony Trade for/Buy #26 Targets. Wouldn’t draft them at #18 unless all options above are gone. If they reach #26, we try to purchase this pick from BOS. All of the above if available, plus 17) Tiger 18) Williams 19) Woodard 20) Bolmaro Draft at #31 (or another 2nd round pick) Targets. Wouldn’t trade up for them. If they reach #31, we draft them. Any of the above, plus 21) Ramsay 22) Aleksej 23) Alexander Draft using a traded-for additional second: 24) Riller 25) McDaniels 26) Flynn 27) Scrubb 28) Hughes 29) Joe RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Scott41theMavs - 10-07-2020 BTW, 41 days until the draft. I need a countdown. RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Kammrath - 10-08-2020 Achiuwa has really grown on me (being #4 on my Mavs-centric big board): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHENlLb4fvo RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Scott41theMavs - 10-08-2020 40 days until the draft. I really like wing four possibilities like Achiuwa. If the Mavs' on-paper idea is to let KP retain his current role and start Powell at the four (throwing up in my mouth a little), then it isn't that hard to upgrade him in his current condition with someone like Achiuwa. I need to revise my draft board to include Lewis and Bane. Lewis would be in the 18 category and Bane the one below. Trade-up Targets (if they slip to #10 or lower). Offer Brunson, 18, and 31. 1) Okongwu 2) Vassell 3) Haliburton 4) Okoru 5) Avdija 6) Wiseman Trade-up targets (if they slip to 12 or lower) 18 + 31 packaged All of the above, plus 7) S. Including experts. Might be because they watched Adebayo (similar body type) dominate in the playoffs. RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Scott41theMavs - 10-08-2020 Was thinking of moving Green up my board, but nah. Very good defender, quite raw offensively. If he eventually became your starter, you would need an elite three who could playmake and create his own shot. I like Maxey's D, but he is close to falling off my Mavs-centric board. Just not sold on his shooting and I feel like he plays small on O. I just feel like Brunson is better probably. "Better" is pretty broad and can mean a number of things. Russell Westbrook is "better" than a number of players, but his game doesn't translate to winning. In any event, I think that Maxey is clearly a difference-maker on defense in a way that Brunson is not, so I think Maxey would fit the Mavs better than Brunson does *in that sense.* In everything else? Brunson might be better for the Mavs. RE: DRAFT: Nov 18 (Combine: Sep 28 - Oct 16) | Mavs get #18 & #31 - Kammrath - 10-08-2020 (10-08-2020, 08:41 PM)Scott41theMavs Wrote: I think that Maxey is clearly a difference-maker on defense So try to put aside your previous knowledge and assumptions and watch Ty-Shon Alexander and Tyrese Maxey side by side and tell me what you think.
