Anyone following the Rockets, what would a package for LeBron look like?

Probably need to include FVV who just signed a two-year deal.  Not sure they'd do that.

Or would've you rather had him not be locked up akin to Brunson. The same dude most were wary about extending pre-KP trade because he was unplayable against the Clippers 7 months prior?

certainly would have been a nice contract if he panned out. guess I'm more annoyed that they tried so hard to make him a PG when he clearly was not built for that. was horrible at PG even in summer league

@ShamsCharania
Fenerbahce's Nigel Hayes-Davis – the 2025 Euroleague champion and finals MVP as well as Turkish Cup champion and MVP – has agreed to a fully guaranteed one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns, sources tell ESPN. The two-time Euroleague first-teamer returns to the States and NBA.

Lakers paying Perk to diminish Ayton’s negotiatiating leverage.

Honestly pretty easy for them if they include Sengun as the starting piece.

Sengun+Sheppard+Landale is enough. Rockets still have Capela and Adams as their centers.

I like Perkins less than Windhorst, but there is obviously something wrong with Ayton on and off the court.

I don't think there is any chance they'd trade Sengun.

They tried to turn him from a one dimensional scoring guard into someone that can also facilitate. Hardy doesn't have that ability it seems.

But he is still a good enough scorer that at 6 mil, I'm not that upset he's on the roster. He just doesn't provide what this team badly needs. When Luka was here, Hardy was a great "nice-to-have" on the bench.

Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes)
Sources: Phoenix Suns and franchise player Devin Booker are in talks on a contract extension. Booker is eligible for a two-year, $150 million max extension.

I'm fine with Hardy getting that contract but he hasn't progressed enough, even as a one dimensional scorer.  He often doesn't understand his size and how to effectively use it.  Maybe that would change given more opportunity, but that's hard to get anywhere when you don't maximize the minutes you do get.  I had really high hopes for him so that's probably the kiss of death to his career.

RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - Chicagojk - 06-30-2025

I would be surprised if Hardy makes an impact next year. I think he got a little too big/strong. Not always a bad thing but I think him being lean is probably better. Quickness over built. He is a 6’3 guard. I would rank quickness as a bigger priority.

RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST - SleepingHero - 06-30-2025

Smitty has championed this idea before but I also want to reiterate it. The Mavs could theoretically create another vet min signing by simply waiving Brandon Williams and then just re-signing him to a 2-way.

He still has 1 more year of eligibility left for 2-ways due to the Harry Giles rule. Mavs still have 1 more two-way spot available

By waiving B-Will, Mavs open up about 3.6mil of space under the 2nd apron. Just enough for a vet min signing.

Is there a financial impact on B-Will?

None. His deal is non-guaranteed.

Mavs however are at risk to losing him outright given he's just a minimum and could be claimed by any team. They could wait till the end of the offseason though when rosters are mainly set to avoid this issue.

Edit: Oh you meant does B-Will lose money. He will. 2 way deals are half the rookie minimum. Which is about 650K this year. He will get 200k from his current contract, granting him a total of 800k. But he's losing out on 1.4 mil.

So his future 2-way pays the same as his current deal?  I guess no Exum news is good news for the Mavs then.

Don't really like the Brunson comp.  Not in the ballpark of what Brunson had showed after 3 years.  Most folks were on board with extending him the summer after that playoff.  Nobody questioned extending him by the KP trade.  We can't extend every young player that comes through here because they might be Brunson.  Just have to be better at evaluation.

I’m honestly intrigued by what Luka Garza could do with regular minutes. Never really got a chance in Minnesota. But dominated the G League after dominating college basketball. Maybe there’s something there.

He is a skilled scorer and can make a three with some minutes. It’s for sure a real chance for him and some guaranteed money he has never been assured of. Go Hawks! My family in Iowa will be happy.

No it doesn't. I misunderstood what you originally wrote.

B-Will will lose about 1.4mil from this deal if this is what happens.

Free agent sharpshooter Luke Kennard has agreed to a one-year, $11 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks, sources tell ESPN. Kennard has been one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, and Atlanta negotiated the new deal with CAA's Aaron Mintz and Dave Spahn.

I don't believe Omax will be here. There's no plan for him anymore. I don't know how, but I can't see the Mavs keeping him.
