I'm not watching another nba game until the team is sold and all of them are gone. (eta: except Cuban, he didn't trade Luka) RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - SleepingHero - 04-09-2025 https://x.com/NickHarrisFWST/status/1910151278052729300 @NickHarrisFWST Luka Dončić finishes with 45 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in his return to Dallas. After he checks out for the final time, the crowd erupts into its loudest “Fire Nico” chant of the night as GM Nico Harrison watches from the tunnel. Lakers win 112-97. Fire Nico and Jason Kidd and sign Luka. It might take 4-5 years for this to happen, who knows but I hope we can have the guy back before he turns 30. I will move on from this but Lebron did go back to Cleveland, so there's still a slight chance. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - Chicagojk - 04-09-2025 Mavs protesting the game. One of Luka's threes his feet were on the line. Just kidding, but I could see them doing something like that. Man, the Mavs future is bleak. It is going to make it easier to back away, I think. The AD offense is just so bad to watch. I know we have no guards and he is not moving well, but man the throw it to him in the post offense is brutal to watch. The defense is not much better. One move. It will not cancel all but it would be a start. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - myconsumerclub - 04-09-2025 the trade was orchestrated by others and NICO did what he was told to do so it is not really his fault it is the powers that be that cut a deal with Dumont and his idiocy as a rookie owner that led him to accept an offer he was made that was horrible and it was truly horrible according to everyone who is a true Dallas fan and even everyone outside the mavs organization as expressed by every player from every team in the league the word is it was an instant lost trade for Dallas the minute they even considered it. You will be in our hearts forever Luka and we hope to figure out a way to bring you back to our team under a newer owner one day. I do not, will not and can not trust the owners of the mavs to ever be honest to we the people and to tell us truth. They have betrayed us all and deserve to be condemned to the 9th ring of Dante's inferno. They are forever cursed among sports teams to never know the love of the fans of the team they own and all they can ever do to win our gratitude is to sell the team so that we never need to hear or see them ever again. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - Chicagojk - 04-09-2025 The Mavs are going to need to do a Hail mary. Either that or blow things up. I don't want to judg the players who just got back, but AD is clearly not a #1 scorer on a good team. He can have the 40 and 18 games, but he also can have the 14 point games where he is invisible on offense. A healthy Kyrie is also not a #1 option. He is a bunch scorer. A guy who can get you 10-14 points in 5 minutes and finish with 25. They need a #1 scorer who both AD and Kyrie (and the big) can play off of. Blowup is the other alternative. If Nico sticks around, that won't be a consideration. The hail mary option you may have a distant chance over the next few years and then a decade plus of misery. The blowup will be a long road as well, but could be the better longterm alternative. Give it 2 years and then restart when we have zero picks. Because Nico is a great GM. Marshall has played well this year. Just not sure he will be the best use with the team I envision. But he has really stepped up. PJ and Gafford are both good players with short contracts. Throw in matching salary like Jaden and Powell. The pick(s) allows PHX to get a young asset. It is not a great package for PHX, but could be competitive. I am not sure if this team is toxic to other players though. KD to the Mavs probably wouldnt' work out, but lets not think this team has any future next year as is. Especially with Kyrie out for most of the year. Not sure you can put together a team that is better than the current top 7, I don't think. Heck, Portland and San Antonio may be more competitve next year. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - FireNicoHarrison - 04-09-2025 Are you sure guys that so many players will want to play here? The organization&FO are toxic and the fanbase is lost. There are a lot of better options for KD or the other superstars. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - Mavs03 - 04-09-2025 I don't think it's a coincidence that we have struggled mightily since Brandon Williams had to sit out due to the NBA contract situation. Hopefully, he can be a boost to our backcourt because Dinwiddie ain't cutting it. I also hope Exum can come back. I would rather have Williams and Exum be our PG than Dinwiddie moving forward. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - SwisherPrice - 04-09-2025 Anthony Davis looked so scared out there...especially against LeBron! I am not sure if this team is toxic to other players though. Because I have the misfortune to still be a Mavs fan, my only hope for the offseason is that Nico is fired and the league gifts us Flagg (or at the very least a top four pick - the "and" is there because no team so self-flagellating as to retain Nico as its GM deserves that), or, if the owners are too moronic to fire Nico, that someone outbids us for KD. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - ThisIStheYear - 04-09-2025 Luka made the guys he was traded for look small tonight. It’s pretty much settled that this was as one sided as trades get. And, Luka joins another epic group, as now only he and Wilt have scored 45 for and against the same team during a single season. Luka walks with the all time greats. RE: Game 80: Los Angeles Lakers (48-31) vs. Dallas Mavericks (38-41) - cow - 04-10-2025 Still hard to believe our trash organization traded him. I don't think this wound will heal. Sell the team or move to Vegas. At this point, I'm envious of Supersonic fans. |
