We need some Lebron drama to keep us entertained.

BREAKING: Three-time NBA All-Star Julius Randle intends to sign a new three-year, $100 million deal to stay with the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell ESPN. The deal includes a player option for the 2027-28 season.

That is a great endorsement for the agent of..............Naz Reid.

Miami Heat guard Duncan Robinson is declining his $20 million early termination option to become a free agent and will work with the franchise on a new deal to return, or a move elsewhere, sources tell ESPN.

Wording is weird. It's contradictory. If he declined his eto, he will not become a FA. An eto is incredibly rare these days.

I read it as he is not going to be a free agent, but I agree it is weird.   I saw something earlier someone (I think Z. Lowe) was thinking about any Brad Beal trades.   He said Robinson and Rozier plus a future first for Beal.  Would the Heat have any interest in that?  Could the Heat get the older Beal production back?

I think the Lakers keep both Lebron and DFS.    It would be smart for them to think on the Luka timeline (hopefully sooner than later, the Mavs treat Flagg the same way if he proves he is legit).   Luka is pretty loyal, so signing DFS is probably something he is going to be watching.  Also how they treat Lebron is somethng he will be watching.  I expect both back.

That is pretty good right?   The Kat trade worked out pretty good for them. I think KAT is  the better player but they got a solid player for almost half the price.

The concerns for me with them is Center and point guard.   For center it is what happens if Gobert loses a step, which could happen soon.  They drafted two centers in this draft so maybe that protects them in time.   Point guard is a little concerning.   I don't think Conley is a 30 minute playoff guy any longer.   It is a lot to ask for Dillingham.  I was expecting them to take one of the falling point guards in the draft.  I wonder if they have a veteran who they are interested in?

[Jones] Philadelphia 76ers restricted free agent guard Quentin Grimes is seeking $25 million per year on his next contract.
Source

Saturday afternoon, in a move first reported by The Athletic, the Philadelphia 76ers tendered Quentin Grimes an $8.7 million qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent. That will allow Philadelphia to match any offer Grimes gets on the open free-agent market.

The Sixers have been in contact with Grimes and his camp, although the price may end up being steep. Grimes, 25, is looking for a contract that averages $25 million per season, league sources tell The Athletic. He has emerged as a dynamic scoring guard, and he gives the Sixers a mix of the ability to shoot from the perimeter and get to the basket and put pressure on the rim off the dribble.

Grimes is important to the Sixers because they need to retain all the talent they can — and he has emerged as a talent. Between Grimes, Tyrese Maxey, Jared McCain and the newly drafted VJ Edgecombe, the strength of Philadelphia’s roster resides in its backcourt. Grimes is versatile enough to move to the small forward spot, which would allow head coach Nick Nurse to employ three-guard lineups. He’s someone who also defends well enough to make an impact at the point of attack.

But while the 76ers can retain Grimes, they may not be able to re-sign unresticted free agent Guerschon Yabusele, which would be a big blow.

I told you CP3 is all about the green. Not that I blame him. I assume as President of the NBAPA, he´s heard and seen more broke player horror stories than most.  Every season we do the "he´s moving to LA/a contender", but he just wants to get paid. Or he´s trying to catch Stockton. Only 6-7 years at 8 APG to go. Big Grin

CP3 to PHX could only be via min salary. If PHX is his pick, it's not about money where someone is outbidding DAL offer. Unusual idea for CP3.

Yeah, maybe he liked playing there.

And, maybe that's the CLOSEST offer (geographically) to LA he thinks he's gonna get?

IIUC his son is going to college in AZ this fall? Or maybe not. Must be some draw to AZ.

Nets didn't take Dayron Sharpe qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted FA. Hoping to resign through their cap space. Interesting

Portis resigns for 44/3. I think Milwaukee negotiated a good deal, I was expecting he will get more.

Agree , short volume scorers has low value in NBA... And i don't want to give up assets for the Sexton of the world.

The Houston Rockets have emerged as a viable free agent landing spot for Dorian Finney-Smith, league sources tell @TheSteinLine and me, after the veteran declined his $15.4 million player option for 2025-26 with the Lakers today.

They have the 7'1 ft kid they drafted from Creighton Ryan Kalkbrenner and Moussa Diabate who's more a 4 man than center. They probably will sign another center. Charlotte had a good draft and they seem to be turning the corner.

I didn’t have that on my bingo card.  DFS is still a good role player but I thought Houston already had too many bodies.  They have been making good moves consistently thought.  Need to move Whitmore if true.  He already is not happy with his minutes.
