RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 Jake Fischer (@JakeLFischer) Minnesota, with the No. 31 and first pick of tonight’s second round, is also fielding trade interest for the Timberwolves’ selection, sources say. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 Jake Fischer (@JakeLFischer) Chicago informed the league this morning they were fielding offers for No. 45, sources say. Other known spots open for trade: Charlotte, with one of Nos. 33, 34, Toronto (No. 39), Golden State (No. 41) and OKC (No. 44). RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 Brett Siegel (@BrettSiegelNBA) Because the Lakers are sending cash to the Bulls in their swap of the #55 pick for #45, they will be hard capped at the second apron for the 2025-26 season. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 (06-26-2025, 11:46 AM)SleepingHero Wrote: Jake Fischer (@JakeLFischer) This is great news imo. Means Minny isn't necessarily in love with anyone at 31. I wonder if Hardy could interest them? RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - michaeltex - 06-26-2025 FWIW, I wouldn't mind seeing DAL deal with MIN or CHA to get an early 2nd and pick up somebody like Proctor to run with Flagg. ESPN currently has him mocked going at #35 to PHL. But they'd have to create a slot a part of the deal making. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 All Things Mavs (@All_Things_Mavs) Marc Stein believes Dallas will come to agreement with a guard using the TPMLE within the first hour of free agency on Monday. His salary choices are all likely to be TxMLE or minimum offers, depending on the team (MLE is ~5.7M, his minimum would be ~3.6M). The Mavs' money is competitive. It's like college recruiting at this point on CP3, I think. He will have choices, and has to be persuaded to pick your team. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - Jmaciscool - 06-26-2025 Would love to get CP3. It would also be hilarious to have a player on the team who literally started playing in the NBA before Cooper Flagg was born. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - KillerLeft - 06-26-2025 (06-26-2025, 11:09 PM)F Gump Wrote: Yep. More than a Dumb and Dumber chance, in fact. The money is enough, I agree. Everyone says he's dying to play in LA to close things out, near his family (not sure which LA team, or if it even matters). I suppose we don't know for sure whether either of those teams wants him. I wonder if A) the chance to win a ring still has appeal for him, and B) if so, what his ranking of his chances would be among DAL, LAC and LAL. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - KillerLeft - 06-26-2025 I wish there was a way to add Chris Paul AND Russell, if I'm being honest. CP3 is what they need, but a little scoring off the bench and an option to help the main group with spacing wouldn't hurt, either. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 (06-26-2025, 11:09 PM)F Gump Wrote: Yep. More than a Dumb and Dumber chance, in fact. The thing is, I don't think money is a deciding factor in this chase for CP3. He said it plainly enough that he wants to be close to his family. And that, for the past several years, he's missed countless of things with his kids. That is hard to persuade a guy out of. And I don't blame CP3 for choosing that route. But if I was Nico, I'd sell Paul hard on the how close the Mavs are to a ring. Whether that is true or not is irrelevant. A real chance at a ring, where he plays a significant role, AND gets paid the most money realistically vs. the other suitors, all together might be enough to make CP3 pause a bit. Still, I wouldn't want CP3 if the entire time here he is homesick wishing he chose the option closer to home. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - KillerLeft - 06-26-2025 If Chris Paul comes here, it will be to play with Kyrie and/or AD. Period. I have no idea if those dudes are friends, or if our two guys are on the long list of guys who hate CP3 (I hope they're friends). Meanwhile, the tea leaves seem to suggest that AD and DLo are friends. I think it's gonna be Russell. Not the greatest get, I understand, but he will help. I think CP3 is amazing, and have always pushed back against the haters. Never winning a ring has pushed him almost into "underrated" territory, even. But, the team needs shooting, and lots of it. CP3 has never been a catch and shoot guy from 3, so I could make an argument Russell might be a better fit. I'm not sure it's the right argument, but I could make it. CP3 is what they need, but a little scoring off the bench and an option to help the main group with spacing wouldn't hurt, either. There are plenty of ways. One just has to take the TPMLE, and the other a vet min. At the same time the Mavs just need to send out one of their smaller guys (Powell, OMax, Hardy) for air. They could also waive B-Will and that should free up the necessary space to sign another vet min. Problem is, I don't think CP3 or Russell are interested in a minimum deal. Maybe CP3 if we can sell him on the idea of ring chasing and showing how serious we are with an already signed D'Angelo Russell under our belt. Kyrie/Russell/CP3/ Klay/Christie/B-Will Flagg/Naji/Martin AD/PJ/OMax Lively/Gafford/Powell That is a pretty strong team truthfully. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - SleepingHero - 06-26-2025 https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6452468/2025/06/26/sacramento-kings-offseason-nba-draft-2025/ Quote:Zach LaVine ($96.4 million combined, including a player option in the 2026-27 season) is chief among them. While the 30-year-old, two-time All-Star is extension-eligible this summer, team and league sources say there are no plans for the Kings to prioritize a new deal for LaVine. If they’re going to pay that sort of freight, it’s quite clear, it will be for a younger player who can be a long-term part of their picture. To that end, league sources say the Kings are among the teams that have interest in Golden State’s Jonathan Kuminga and will be monitoring his market when his restricted free agency begins. And while it appears unlikely that Kuminga will ultimately come their way, it speaks to the vision, and the range of possibilities here, that they’re even focusing on players of that ilk. RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - FireNicoHarrison - 06-27-2025 If CP3 wants to win a ring we are not a destination for him, maybe not the Fakers too buy the have Luka and he is enough for dreaming. We have street clothes and he is enough to stop dreaming hahahahahaha RE: Trade & FA 2025-26: - cow - 06-27-2025 I'd say the Mavs have a punchers chance to compete next year and how you sell that to CP3 from a ring chasing standpoint is that any success the team has will be in large part because of him being on the court. He'd play a lot of meaning basketball before and after Kyrie's return. I don't think a ring in a lot of instances would change the narrative on CP3's hall of fame career, but there are destinations, Mavs included, that could elevate his pantheon status. A ring? He goes where the money is. He´d play in Charlotte, if they offered him the most money. He made 10M last year at age 39 on a lottery team. He should have been a minimum guy for the last five years and made 150M instead. Which is concerning, cause I don´t want him at all and the taxpayer MLE is probably his financial ceiling for next season. I wonder at what point teams will realize that giving a 32/33 year old a four years guaranteed +160M extension is completely idiotic. Look at the worst contracts and they all age decline/injury-related, not skill-related. |
