I don't see the exact player on our team yet. Every player we've discussed has warts though, and I don't want scramble what we have too much to get it. And like the poster above, I'm OK with Sexton. I may not like the cost though so I'm on the fence. I think we're better off keeping Gafford when discussing a trade for Sexton.
I don't know how you would get them to accept a trade without Gafford included.
You could offer one of the following packages:
Marshall/Martin/Powell or Hardy
Max/Martin/Powell or Hardy

My guess is that we won't get him. And I bet Utah is going to want a better package than that. I wouldn't give up Christie, but I probably would give up Marshall. I just don't think that makes Utah happy

While I don't think that would be a smart move by the Spurs, it's amazing how much KP's value tanked as a Mav and how in demand he's been afterwards.

That´s a great return for the Nets, if they pull it off. Though it looks completely idiotic from the Raptors POV. Barrett has only two years left at 28M p.a.

I very much doubt Toronto is just eager to dump Barrett. They must be targeting something. Cam Johnson is more or less the only BKN player that would be possible. Or perhaps Cam Thomas SnT.
I don't understand why BKN would want all those picks in this draft, but there were rumors before that they are looking to move up from #19 to that 8-10 range.

I guess I will have to echo what I heard from Karalla and Cato on DLLS the other day talking about Rick Carlisle and his obsessions with 3 guard lineups. Back then, I hated it with the fury of 1000 suns. In reality, as those guys reiterate, he was on to something: 3 dudes that could dribble competently. A lot of that was on display in the playoffs/finals. Initiator, wings, and bigs--3 of which with the ability to handle the ball well (and protect it). I just don't see ANY starting caliber ball handlers on the roster other than Kyrie. Hopefully, Flagg is one. More importantly, there are ZERO starting caliber initiators with Kyrie out. Long story short, I am really puzzled at the current roster construction and am super curious where our beloved GM is going with all this. I am really, really worried about spacing. I think we are looking at losing a lot of games 82-67 as we stand right now. Kind of like the Rangers. Best pitching, worst batting. The Mavs will be awesome on D but can't score to save their life. Opponents will crowd the paint and let these guys stand around until someone has to clank a 3 as the shot clock runs down.

If PHX has a shrewd and clever GM (he's new, so hard to say), are they looking to trading down for multiple picks from someone? And if so, there might be multiple competing suitors, such as TOR, OKC, BKN, maybe others.
I'm not sure that would necessarily be a smart move for the Suns, but just spitballing on what teams might be trying to do.

Agree, if they want KP then we have the better version in street clothes. Probably just more 2/3 games played per year.

Beal does have a no-trade clause in his contract, but Phoenix is reportedly preparing to offload the veteran guard whether that’s through trade or a record-breaking buyout this offseason.

Toronto has too many guys who need the ball in their hands. So, Barrett out and Cam Johnson in makes some sense if you don't mind Quickley, Poeltl and three guys who are all basically 3/4's. Assuming Brooklyn is giving up multiple picks to move from 19 to 9. Brooklyn would then have 8 and 9 back to back.

I think I could build something there that sends Vucevic/P Williams to Phoenix (they need size). Beal and Gafford end up in Chicago (they need to replace Vucevic at center) and Coby White ends up in Dallas. I have no idea who would get what picks in such a construct.

It makes far more sense to unload some back-of-the-bench players for the wide variety of middle-of-the-road PG's that have been listed here from time to time.
I see your POV, but here’s a couple of pushbacks:
1) I don’t buy the 2 center/2 forward lineups that are being thrown out around here, so if the plan is for Davis to play a lot of 4, I submit that PJW is highly likely to settle into a role coming off the bench eventually if he stays here in Dallas. That’s really not ideal for him, or for his value as a trade piece.
2) Part of the argument in favor of trading Washington instead of Gafford (for those inclined to go that way) is that he’s worth more. What if the guard they got back was not at a middling level where it was assumed he would go to the bench when Kyrie returned, but an actual bonafide starter who could play with Kyrie in the backcourt?
