We don’t have any MLE $ left, so I believe all we can offer is the minimum (not much help in buyout negotiations). It would be a good tryout opportunity for the MLE this summer. Would be a perfect fit but I think the Mavs are not the 1st option for any of those guys. We are not good enough to attract ring chasers. Still only 22 years old. Shooting 44% from three this year on two attempts per..........................month. I think he could function in our system. One year he was shooting 75% from inside 5 feet for a season and another 37% from three. Given he´s basically shooting 2% from everywhere else his overall numbers always look bad, but his limited skillset is compatible with our system. And we need another big body. 10 day contract can´t hurt. MKG finalizing buy out with Hornets and Dallas is a top candidate to sign Lol. I LOVE this because MKG has an EIGHT year track record of having a positive on/off +/-. He has NEVER had a negative for a season. Put him on the court. It may not be pretty but your team will be better for it. RE: Buyout market | Woj: DAL is "possible destination once MKG clears waivers" - Scott41theMavs - 02-08-2020 It's kind of pathetic how desperately we need MKG's size and defense. RE: Buyout market | Woj: DAL is "possible destination once MKG clears waivers" - Fuerza1 - 02-08-2020 I love me some MKG; he was actually my favorite player over Anthony Davis on the 2012 Kentucky championship team. He will be another useful body here but don't imagine a significant role. I rather see him take all of Jackson's minutes but you know live and die by the 3 or you rot on the bench. RE: Buyout market | Woj: DAL is "possible destination once MKG clears waivers" - BigDirk41 - 02-08-2020 I'll feel better about the TDL if we can sign MKG. He could become a quality player for the Mavs. He's never been in a winning environment as a pro. SO GLAD we didn’t give up one of our second tier guys or GS second rd pick for a rental RE: Buyout market | Woj: DAL is "possible destination once MKG clears waivers" - Kammrath - 02-08-2020 https://twitter.com/townbrad/status/1226203014899412992 https://twitter.com/ESefko/status/1226217009186250752 FUN FACT: MKG is YOUNGER than DFS. RE: Buyout market | Woj: DAL is "possible destination once MKG clears waivers" - omahen - 02-08-2020 Omg, how deep you have fallen. Everyone celebrating MKG signing like best move ever. Guy played 12 minutes whole season for mediocre Charlotte... RE: Buyout market | Woj: DAL is "possible destination once MKG clears waivers" - SleepingHero - 02-08-2020 I like MKG. I don't know if he's better for this team than Lee though. Just chemistry wise and shooting wise. We desperately need another defender. I honestly think Jackson is super expendable right now. Wish we could've swung a deal for MKG+2nd rounder for Jackson. (02-08-2020, 02:04 PM)omahen Wrote: Omg, how deep you have fallen. Everyone celebrating MKG signing like best move ever. Guy played 12 minutes whole season for mediocre Charlotte... MKG isn't a game changer, but he's exactly what this team needs. He's a versatile defender that never really found a role in Charlotte. He was compared as a Draymond-lite when Charlotte was stringing together wins 2 years ago. I'd be happy to have him, and celebrate that the Mavs potentially found another wing defender. I wouldn't be over the moon however. We need to create a roster spot. That means 1 of Lee/Jackson/Boban is on the way out. And I don't think MKG is significantly better than any of those players individually. Really makes you wonder why the Mavs made zero deals (not counting the willy one) before the TDL. (02-08-2020, 01:03 PM)Tyler Wrote: The measurable benefit of patience: Don't see how patience plays a role here. Mavs would need to waive someone. So they're essentially "trading" whoever they waive for MKG. They're not getting him for free. If they had a roster spot open then there is an obvious benefit for patience. This isn't it though. |
