Have to admit I haven't watched much lately but am very disappointed reading box scores and seeing Christie with very little production in terms of stats. Is he deferring to someone else, or just totally sucking? Seems like his numbers have tanked ever since the Lakers game. He just has to do a lot more on the court now that we are relying on Brandon Williams and Dinwiddie to set others up. He's a 3 and D guard who is still young. He doesn't really have a reliable way to get off his own shot. So pair that with him having to work way harder to even get his shot off since defenses don't have to worry about anyone else on the court, and no set up guy, it's not surprising he's fallen off a cliff. Same with Klay. Part of it is that he needs somebody to create his shots and we no longer have a high level creator on the floor, and part of it is that he went on a big heater his first couple of weeks here and set expectations unreasonably high. Ironically Grimes has been put into the same position (with Maxey being out) and excelling offensively. If he keeps this up he might end up costing more than the MLE. |
