A week or so ago I broke down the West conference into a couple of tiers. Not much has changed after roughly 4 games. OKC has even increased their lead in a tier of their own. Next 4 teams are the same (Denver, Memphis, LAL, Houston), still only 2 games apart and they still hold 4.5 games advantage over next best teams. This teams will fight for positions 2-5, it is becoming less and less likely someone from behind can catch up in remaining 22 games. Denver and LAL look very strong currently, Memphis and Houston in a bit of a slump, but nothing tragic.
Next 5 teams are only 1 game apart now and the battle for the final playoff spot will be very tough. GSW had the chance to retake the spot from slumping Clippers, but they fumbled against Grimes led Philly. Mavs obviously desperately need at least one of their bigs back (and everyone else healthy) and if it happen, they are totally in the run for that 6th spot.
No one else can realistically join the fight for the play-in.
