That's not elite by any means. But for a 24 year old wing that was pretty raw coming out? I think that's pretty good with plenty of room to improve. He definitely has good handles for a wing. I'm not necessarily advocating for it. But if I'm getting rid of Powell and Wright and getting Oubre, I'm sending out 18 in a heartbeat. I don't think I'm for a deal where I'm taking back longer term money like Beverly. I'm not plan powder for 2021 but I also don't want to exhaust any bit of cap space for guys like Beverly, Powell or Wright. We have our role players with their salaries here already. We need long term starters. Either trade for or wait to sign them in FA next year. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade (Nov 16?) & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - omahen - 11-11-2020 Isn't it funny that basically every casual NBA observer knew Harden and Westbrook will not work, yet the need to get rid of Paul was so high they actually paid a bunch of picks to OKC. But if I'm getting rid of Powell and Wright and getting Oubre, I'm sending out 18 in a heartbeat. I'd think the cost of unloading Powell alone would be greater than 18. Add Wright to the mix and getting a return (Oubre) seems even unlikelier. I know DFS was thrown into the mix but at that point, you are just spending assets to clear up cap space that I'm not positive we'd use appropriately to improve the team. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade (Nov 16?) & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - cjeter24 - 11-11-2020 The only teams I could really make a case for a Westbrook trade making sense would the Knicks because they are desperate for star talent. And the Magic. They can't seem to find a PG answer. Gordon and Fournier work with the $. I think that actually makes Houston better. Magic might not have interest tho. I guess theoretically the Lakers could throw all their contracts that aren't AD and Lebron together to maybe have enough. Not sure why Houston wastes their time with a move like that tho. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade (Nov 16?) & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - jesusshuttlesworth82 - 11-11-2020 I dont think we're getting rid of Powell. Front office loves the dude and no one else would want him. They're shopping Delon hard. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade (Nov 16?) & FA (Nov 20) + Salary Chart | $109.1M cap - StepBackJay - 11-11-2020 Is there a scenario where we can get PatBev for just Wright/Jackson? If the deal is for PatBev and Oubre to get routed to Dallas I am not sure how the money would work without Powell outgoing and I don't see that happening. To me the Mavs interest in this multi-team trade would be to get PatBev or Oubre on the cheap (ie Wright/Jackson). PatBev probably wouldn't require a pick but Oubre would cost something. 18 seems way too high but 31 would be fair.
