Yeah insane game from him. Looks like an absolute stud.

Sucks that the Mavs are doing what they are doing right now. Dude will go top 7 easily so not within our range.

Pretty impressive by both Fleming and Wagner. Did it against two very good teams on the road as well. Gameday was at Tech too

Wagler is a good choice

What a crazy day.  Mikel brown was back and Lois to have a good game.  Acuff gors for 31 on 13-19 shooting and Thomas Haugh goes for 27 and 10.  Only downer is Peterson is not playing tonight

And Boozer goes for a ho hum 32 and 9

If we’re looking for a guy who can play off ball with Kyrie and eventually take over full time PG duties, it’s gotta be Wagler. I do really like Mullins too but he doesn’t have future PG potential.

You don't like Peterson or Flemming?

RE: 2026 NBA draft thread - Chicagojk - 01-24-2026

What is really amazing is how efficient most of these high scoring games are. Sometimes you see high free throw shooting and shooting attempts. Most of these games for the freshman are really efficient games.

Ament with 29 tonight.

Why post about Wagler and Ament, when they are projected between 5-10 and YOU support the Mavs current plan to be ineligible to pick these guys, since the Mavs will either get a top 4 pick with a 3% chance or pick 12th or 13th. Oh look Indiana beat the Thunder, goes 5-5 over their last 10 and are still in the bottom three. You really think a Rick Carlisle coached team goes from NBA finals to worst in the league based on losing two mid players like Haliburton and Turner? You really think Harding couldn´t coach the Jazz not to give up 150 points every night?

Wagler 46/4/0
Flemings 42/6/2
Ament 29/7/3
Booozer 32/9/3
Dybantsa 43/6/3
Wilson 20/4/2
Peterson DNP
Acuff 31/6/2
Philon 26/7/4
Brown 20/6/3

All of them did it on high efficiency, too.

Some of you guys LITERALLY actively support not getting one of these guys with 100% probability.

This is assuming we don’t get lottery luck.

I think if you were number 2 or 3 in the draft, you'd have to take Peterson if he's available.

Flemings is different. I don't think he's taken until 4 or 5, and then you might consider Wagler because he's good enough to be groomed for PG duties even though he rarely plays there. I mean you could play him next to another PG as a playmaking SG (his position now). I'm not sure how NBA teams will view him, but the analysts I've heard gush over his playmaking. He's a bit of a swiss army knife.

@DraftDeeper
I’ve been scouting and evaluating basketball prospects for the NBA Draft over the last 15 years. Forget the Top 3, this entire 2026 NBA Draft class just feels like something we’ve never seen, and something we may never see again.

One thing to really ask off of this: has there ever been a two-year period where we’ve seen THIS much talent injected into the NBA? Both the ‘25 and ‘26 classes are pumping very legitimate long-term star power into the league.

Big statement by Nathan. If talking heads are right about this draft. The Mavs picked two good years to be bad. They also picked a good year to not have a FRP, if the ‘27 class is as weak as those same talking heads say.

Exactly.  We will see where the Mavs wind up but they definitely got lucky with Draft years.

There is good players in every draft and things can change quickly.  Although next year draft is supposedly looking really weak.  Maybe the next one too.

I do wonder with NIL if some freshman first rounders decide to return to school though.

RE: 2026 NBA draft thread - rocky164 - 01-25-2026

I do think if the analysts are correct, there will be players projected to be in this year’s draft outside the top 8-10 who will stay in school, collect NIL money then be drafted 5-8 slots higher next year. The NIL really changes the value of late first round picks. We’ll see more older players in this range who have exhausted their college eligibility.

RE: 2026 NBA draft thread - Chicagojk - 01-26-2026

The Nate Ament conundrum. He is a true projection. Up and down this year. Pretty weak. Great size. Good skill. A little stiff. I think he is probably a top 10 pick. I like the top of the draft, you may need to be patient with him and may not see immediate results. If he works out though, you have a 6’10 with good perimeter skills.

I watched the first half of Brown and let’s be frank, he was bad.  Just a half, but I can see why others have passed him. Good size, but he is defiantly in the grouping of freshman who you will need to be patient with.

Yeah he had a rough game. 1/13 from the field. 4 ast / 3 tov

Dybantsa’s poor shooting night also cost his team a win. 6/24. 1/8 from 3. They still almost pulled off the comeback.
