I guess Anderson Varejao thought it sure would be nice to get another W in a Cavs uniform. Seems like a nice enough fellow, but Mavs are gonna need to break his heart in this one. Must win game.

I would be surprised if this weren't Luka's rest game.

Remembering how the Mavs fared against NOP without Luka and KP I sure hope not.

On a Kevin Love rant related note. Chris Vernon from The Ringer must be my favourite NBA analyst today.

Also Jarrett Allen. Cry

Hope we get to see some Hartenstein minutes. He´d be my favourite target for the rMLE. He was a projected lottery pick before his back scans dumped him into the 2nd round. Perfect guy for 10-15 (emergency) minutes and see where it goes from there. Regardless of the Porzingis outcome, you can sell me on WCS/Hartenstein as Porzingis´injury replacement rotation or WCS/Hartenstein competing with the Porzingis replacement for the starting C job. Counting Powell as a PF.

Stats for Cavs in 18 MPG

8.7 PPG
6.3 RPG
2.5 APG
1.3 BPG
60.5 FG%

It's all in front of the Mavs. No slip ups they should get the 5th or 6th spot. They seem to be playing better without KP. When he comes back, it may thwart the momentum they have achieved.

Must win game because we can pull out a two game lead on the loser of Lakers/Blazers tonight! Big Grin

But if we do end up playing Denver, I like the idea of KP's length possibly altering and/or limiting the Joker's three point shots.  That is, if KP gets out on him.

Interesting dilemma for that team if it happens. If you get behind two games - do you play your guts out to MAYBE close the gap or start preparing for the play-in? How much good does it bring if you leave everything on the court in the last 6 games only to remain in the play-in, perhaps facing teams that could take it a bit easier last couple of games, because their fate was already decided.

That's why I think next two games could be really huge and Mavs really should do everything possible to win them. Rest later

Yeah, if LA loses tonight, how much impetus will there be for LeBron to try to come back in and play at a superhuman level just to try to get back into the 6th spot?

I would think not, they should still be able to avoid 9th place which means they get 2 games to win 1. I like those odds of I am the Lakers with LeBron and AD fully back by then.

Is Carlisle okay?  Big Grin

Trusting and letting the rookies play through multiple Cavs runs that cut the lead to 14-16 points. Tongue
