I really don't know what bothers Cuban here. I am following most of Mavs content and I find The Athletic one of best, right up there with ESPN regarding depth and quality of articles.

Anyone else think the Lakers are going to have serious problems?They will be fine if Lebron and AD play 82 games, but that's not going to happen.

I wouldn't say "serious problems" but I think they have a serious chance to miss the playoffs. 538.com has predictions for this season 538.com has predictions for this season and I basically agree with their take on the Lakers which is a 66% chance to make the playoffs (less than the Mavs which have a 68% chance). But if things go RIGHT for the Lakers then a 11% chance to win it all (versus the Mavs which are less than 1%).

Watching LeBron go to the Finals that many years in a row has always made me think he would have seasons later in his career when his body might start to break down. I think missing the playoffs last year was actually good for him, but I don't think he will be able to be what he once was, mainly defensively.
And, I agree that he will likely miss games this year. The Lakers are going to get enjoy paying a superstar on the decline. Will be interesting to see how he takes to losing should it go down that way. He says he's ready for AD to be the #1, but I don't know that AD is ready for that or will have the health to do it either.. |
