JJB signs with team in Spain
#1
JJB is Maverick royalty and I wish him nothing but the best.

The downside is that now I have to follow another team.

See you next year Champ when you are teaching our players how to finish at the rim and take charges...
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

Mavs should have kept him on the roster and made Terry the 2-way player. Hinton is an OK prospect but was he really necessary when they drafted Green and also signed Iwundu? Prospects like Hinton are available every year.

JJB's presence on the bench and in the locker room is more important.

Not Real Madrid? It would have been nice to have him there reuniting with Mejri and recruiting from our Euro farm team

Yeah, I think you can make that argument, for sure.

I was excited about Hinton during the preseason, but I've been reminded how painfully irrelevant he's likely to be, not only this season, but moving forward. Gotta get up a steep slope to gain traction as an undrafted FA to begin with, and on top of that, he's clearly behind two other dudes who have are fighting desperately to make it in the NBA.

I'm not sure what will be the long-term outcome of the choice, but seeing how everything is going wrong this season, I think arguing that Barea might've made a difference has some merit.

I wanted him here this year, but I don't think it's a sure thing that he wanted to be here even if his roster spot was guaranteed if there wasn't a chance for him to get regular playing time.  I think he wants to compete on the floor, not mentor someone who is taking his minutes.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder......

....I am NOT talking about JJB on-court, but realizing how damn important he possibly was to holding the Mavs together off the court and keeping the chemistry in a good place.

DP doesn't have that alpha personality that JJB does.

I still hate how we let JJ go. His bench presence is truly missed.
