Hey let´s look at it this way. Harden left the West and all the West got back was a Oladipo rental. LeVert and Allen stayed in the East.

Though the Rockets will temporarily feel good about themselves (wins wise this season), cause Oladipo will play hard for his new contract. They feel less good, when he leaves in the summer. Big Grin

He should have tweeted: Trip down memory lane, when I was assistant GM to the last Brooklyn blockbuster trade that went really well for us. Big Grin

The Pacers are such a well run franchise. It´s sad that they never get an NBA title for their professionalism.

I just can't understand why Houston traded LeVert for Dipo straight up. Even if they don't like him, his trade value is much bigger than the one from Oladipo.

Yeah pretty shocked by this. IND got the younger, healthier, better player who is under team control contract wise....

Brooklyn will implode...KD will want to leave soon...Kyrie will not return (I wouldn't)

THEY LOST JARET ALLEN FOR THAT????????????????????   LOL  Welcome to VAJville for Brooklyn...

Houston is 1000xs better than they were yesterday.  Boogie Cousins literally looked up at the stars and said "you don't HATE me!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Indy is in GREAT shape with Lavert.  Dipo was leaving.

Heck the Cleveland Cavs will end up better than the Brooklyn Nets...by the time the Fat Beardcer has run it's course.

KD to the Mavs or maybe Dipo to the Mavs after March 4...

I can't believe you're so low on Oladipo. Dudes averaging 20ppg on 42FG% and 36% from 3. He's only 28 compared to LaVert who's 26.

Love/Drummond for THJ/Johnson/Powell/Boban works according to the ESPN trade machine.

Do you do it?

100/3 left for the injury-prone Love, who put up 18/10/3 last season.

If he makes it that far. While things can always change, I'd wager Oladipo is dealt by the trade deadline for another expiring plus cheap players and picks. It could be a great opportunity for Dallas to nab him with Bird rights if they're interested.

It was a good trade for everyone involved I guess. Nets got their guy, the Rockets got something that COULD be good long-term. Draft picks are hit or miss...and there's still the lottery so you could have horrible teams and still miss out on the best draft picks like the Knicks. However, Harden wanted out and they just had to take the chance and pull the trigger on the best reasonable offer they could get.

Would have been interesting if it was the Sixers and Simmons instead

1) LeVert is 26 with 6000 mins on his body and no major injuries. Dipo is 28 with 14000 mins on his body and a very significant injury to his knee that will have to be managed the rest of his career.

2) Even with his hot shooting start Dipo only has a 16.5 PER this year while LeVert is 19.4.

3) Dipo has been negative or just breaking even on +/- impact recently and LeVert has been trending more and more positive in impact.

If it doesn't really cost anything I am open to the Mavs taking flyer on Dipo, but I do not think Dipo is a very positive asset and is a big risk as well based on the contract he is looking for.

I delete the Cavs GM contact info from my phone and then smash it with a hammer after I heard that deal.

I actually like Love. Hell I even like Drummond. But if it'd cost THJ to get either of them? No thank you. THJ needs to be upgraded but not that badly.

Further we lose the heart and soul of this team with Boban.

I'd rather do either one or the other, Love or Drummond. In any case this deal works for either: Powell+WCS+Terry+Johnson for Love (or Drummond)+Nance.

This is the Nets starting five

Harden
Irving
Harris
Durant
Jordan

Forget about only having one ball on offense, who is playing defense? And once they don´t all get to eat on offense, they´ll be extra motivated on defense. Also a team led by four knuckleheads. Except for not being old this feels a lot like the Super Lakers.

Oh they won´t let Nance go. He´s not even been sneaky good for them. He´s just good.

Leds the league in steals at 2.4 SPG, almost 4 APG and 42% from three. They basically decided that it will be Nance/Allen going forward.

Therefore I guess Love for Johnson/Powell is a real possibility, just to get off the long-term money.

I doubt that the Cavs would do Drummond for Johnson/Powell straight up. They´d rather let Drummond walk, so you´d have to add something. They have very little use for Terry. Maybe Tyler Bey and two future 2nd round picks. Can you even trade a 2-way player?
