That is true. But they'd only be able to sign 1 big money guy (non max) and then something a bit smaller depending on how much money that costs. And that's at the expense of losing Dragic.
If they stay over the cap and do a SNT like that, they'll be able to get THJ, MLE, resign all their free agents and still have the possibility of SNT their own guys in trades.
The real appeal for them to stay over the cap l is if they were able to get someone with a big salary via trade at the draft. The difficulty for Miami tho is the one asset they have that they may be wiling to part with is Herro.
