So Rick was talking about all of the defensive additions to the team - and didn't mention Iwundu at all. JJB, who can very barely still play, is going to kick a guy with a pedigree as a defensive starter, off of our "looking to get tougher" squad. Idgaflip if it makes Luka happy. Don't tell me you're shooting for toughness when something like that happens.

Regarding Luka statement. He is always saying nice things about guys. I wouldn't put more than that into it. 

Mavs reportedly gave Iwundu a 2 year guaranteed deal. Why would they go through all the trouble of keeping 2021 cap space and than just throw away a portion of it away by cutting him. I am sure Barea will be the one being cut, nothing else makes sense.

Looking at Kamm’s roster graphic...we know they won’t want dead money past this season, and Johnson’s deal seems way too big for them to swallow. So, the only three options I see are: Boban, WCS and Brunson. 

I honestly can’t imagine them cutting any of those guys for Barea to be the 15th man. I just can’t. If they do make a decision like that, there will be a bigger reason behind it than “we like him.”
