DP still looked pretty quick on his drive from the top of the three point arc....just missed the layup.

1st Half Over-Reactions:

Luka looks out of shape and still complains at the refs all the time.

DP looks rusty, but looks like he will still be quite effective.

THJ looks like he might come crashing back to earth (but that is mostly my fear speaking on a small sample size).

JRich looks like he is going to be a great fit.

Green looks like he will grow into a great complementary player, he just looks intelligent in how moves off the ball, etc.

Johnson looks like he might be a contributor thereby proving me wrong.

More Over-Reactions:

I think the Mavs hit on ALL four of their rookies (Green, Tyrell, Bey, Hinton), if that is the case that will be a franchise changer that should give them the depth or the trade ammo to get another ring.

That was the most encouraging thing for me to see bc I love that move. Very hard to defend. I don't mind him missing around the basket bc that's just rust. I don't understand why Rick would ever think a Powell/DFS frontcourt is a good idea but oh well. Powell moves around okay but I think the super springy Powell we know and love is gone forever.

Mavs have Timberwolves coming up and Powell went nuts against them early last year if I remember correctly. I am interested to see how he looks against them given that they aren't a defensive juggernaut like the Bucks.

There is nothing I like about DFS/Powell frontcourt....in fact all the metrics say that DFS needs to be a SF not a PF.

DFS is not playing PF on defense. Tonight, Powell was on GA and Luka was on Lopez. DFS got Middleton and JRich Holiday. They were hiding THJ on DiVinzenzo.

Offensivelly doesn't matter, because three guys are basically standing on the three point line waiting for Luka pass out of the Powell PnR.

Once he drops the undershirt we’ll know he’s ready

He does look a bit chunky.

I'm going to tell myself though that Luka looked out of shape because he didn't care about this meaningless game and when he cared he hit 3 deep 3's.

Green was solid and will grow in his position I believe.

Hinton was the most impressive rookie. His hustle and control on both ends was fun to watch. Great pick up IMO.

Terry will need to adjust to the speed of the game but I see high potential there.

Bey looks like a very comfortable role player. Very happy with this pick that also grabbed us J. Rich.

Iwundu was a disappointment honestly. Very out of control on the offensive end.

Overall, very excited for the future of this young team.

First impression was the Mavs had a great draft...not Luka/Brunson level but very solid and as always they found another undrated gem...
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...
