Quote:It wasn’t long ago that NBA teams and players were expecting the 2020/21 season to begin sometime in the new year, perhaps even as late as March. However, after the league changed course last month and proposed a pre-Christmas restart, those teams are now preparing for free agency to begin in a week and for the regular season to tip off in less than six weeks.
With things moving so quickly, teams feel frustrated by the lack of information and clarity they’ve received from the NBA about how everything will work, writes Tim Bontemps of ESPN.
The league still has to finalize several short-term logistical details for the offseason, like when player and team option decisions are due or when trade exceptions will expire. Teams also have a number of questions about the health, safety, and travel protocols for the regular season, and are feeling pressure to figure out their plans for allowing fans into arenas.
“We know it’s hard, and they’re working on a lot of details,” one team president told ESPN. “They are listening to a lot of feedback from all of us. But at times we feel like we’re in the dark and that can get frustrating.”
“Nobody knows the rules,” a separate executive said, “and (the league) is making it up as it goes along.”
As Bontemps points out, when the NBA planned its summer restart to complete the 2019/20 season, it took several months for the league to work out all its safety protocols for the bubble. With no plans to create another bubble for ’20/21, the league and its teams must figure out how they’ll keep players, coaches, and other employees safe as clubs fly all over the country and fans are potentially allowed back into arenas. The timeline to establish all those new protocols is far more compressed than it was earlier this year.
“Everything is happening last minute, in a short period of time,” an Eastern Conference executive told ESPN. “There’s not much time to think through things.”

Love to GS seems strange to me. I guess they took a hit of Wiggins and can't wait to get their hands on another toxic contract. Or they feel that Draymond is pretty much done.

If Dallas is looking for a defensive-minded forward and a secondary playmaker, Green could solve two problems in one move. And come to think of it, Maxi would be a nice stand-in for Love in Cleveland. Hmm...

Love is pretty underrated tbh, he is still very valuable player IMO.
Age and contract are problems, but still a player coaches should like

He has a huge contract, and if GSW are looking to trade one of their title cornerstones, we shouldn't even answer the phone. I would be too scared to take that contract, after what we saw from him in last two seasons.

Yeah his play from last year has to scare off any sane GM
He was a 8/6/6 player with a 49% true shooting percentage. They needed so much more from him and he didn't have that extra gear anymore

"Oladipo and his people want you to believe now that he’s all-in on making it work long-term with the Pacers.
Except for this: He also said he would go to the Orlando bubble and attempt to play during the resumption of the season… followed shortly thereafter by news that he would sit out the Bubble games… followed shortly thereafter by his decision to play in central Florida, a decision driven by the fact that sitting out would have meant a sizeable cut in pay.
Does that sound like someone who is all in? Not to me."

Why so late an announcement?

Maybe something about contract transitions to the 2020-21 season?

Of course you know what the best news about that trade would be....
...no Dinwiddie to the Mavs.

Yeah I think the Nets would need Prince and LaVert to have their extensions kick in before they could salary match Harden.

I legit can’t decide if I think that team would be amazing or absolutely terrible. I do not think James Harden and Kyrie Irving are a good fit at all.

Well, that is the point of having player friendly coach like Nash with MDA as assistant.
And after playing with Lebron, Kyrie could play with another ball dominant player. Harden also played his best with CP3
Obviously Harden ain't Lebron, Kyrie ain't CP3, but it might be worth trying tbh.
