I know how I'd answer that question.

I'll take Harrell for 2/16 over Ibaka at 2/19 mostly because Ibaka looks a little washed up and anything beyond a year. I guess it depends what you are looking for though.

Still, you wonder the actual lure of wanting to play with Luka.  Are we going to save up all of this space just to have another disappointing FA in 2021?

That's crowder not Ibaka? 
I never heard Dallas linked to Ibaka other than speculation.

And at equal money, Ibaka may have wanted to stay in Toronto or go play with his buddy in LA. 
I mean we sort of expected not much since we didn't have cap space and we were hoping to get something to come on the MLE. But only a few guys we wanted have gone at the MLE so it's sort of been a mute point.

I think we wanted Ibaka sign and trade with Wright going to Toronto but it fell through

Well it’s not just Luka. Dallas has to be ready to win a Title 

Guys sign with the clippers and Lakers because they’re contenders.

We are kind of limited this year to S&T or within the MLE type players.  I'm not excusing the MBT because I'm the first to dunk on them in this area, but it will be interesting to see what happens next off season when we have better flexibility.

Lakers and Clippers are getting an LA/Ring Chase discount that other teams couldn't get. That said, I like Harrell for the Lakers more than Ibaka. The Lakers main concern should be getting LeBron and AD some time off so they can stay fresh for those critical moments when Championships are on the line. Harrell is such an elite PnR roll guy that they can still be high end with a LeBron/Harrell PnR when AD is off the floor, and they can even tread water when both are off the floor with a Shroder/Harrell PnR.

But now it's back to being about plan powder?  and toughness and defense.

Yep. Lots of mixed messages. Mavs were linked to Hayward extension as well.

To me, it makes perfect sense when you realize it’s not about powder, but rather using the cap efficiently and not making bad deals (though they got Wright wrong). 

They have lots of different ways to go, and are keeping options open until a great one presents itself.

Carlisle saying they aren't done by a long shot but we've signed Burke, Johnson via trade dumps of JJ/Delon, Jed and possibly JJB.  Maybe I'm overreading his words or underestimating his disdain for Delon.

Maybe Gallo turned us down because of years.

Possible but it was reported that they were going hard after him and the bidding seemingly got to a number they weren't comfortable with.  Gallo's age and defense really doesn't make sense to me as everyone else we've gotten has been some combination of defensive minded, young or both.
