A little premature on May.  And as insufferable as Kidd was, I don't think he's a bad coach.

The Summer League showing of Sergio and Ishchenko made (Wemby) expendable. *Nemby*

Mavs trade a guy they drafted last year for a guy drafted two years ago and STILL got younger.

I'm sure he meant Nemby.

Not bad but not good for sure.

May is an upgrade.

Think about this for a second: ATL had the number 1 pick in the draft two years ago and developed/dealt their way into getting two undrafted players in return for that asset.

Imagine how we'd feel if we were ATL fans right about now.

He was not a good coach.

Highlight reels are worth almost nothing, but it's tradition.

Top it off with winning the number one pick the year after Wemby and the year before Flagg.

I would encourage the haters to watch this with an open mind. Again, highlights are sometimes very misleading, but what's not ambiguous is that the kid is VERY talented.

Players of this size who can handle the ball this well, run this fast (with or without the ball), pass like this, make decisions this fast and get shots off in such a wide variety of ways just don't come around everyday. This is why Ament was such a discussed prospect in the latest draft. Also, he's on the cusp of being a genuinely impactful defender. There are like 20 amazing chase down blocks in this video. At the risk of being redundant, I'm always surprised by how fast he plays.

Someone compared one of our new players to Josh Green the other day, and while I think his intent was misunderstood, it sparked a visceral reaction from many on the board. Well...THIS is the guy you compare to Josh Green, imho. What I mean is that, like Green, this guy is GOOD. Like Green, he has failed so far because he hasn't been confident enough to willingly force himself to be consistently present in a noticeable way. If the Mavs can fix that, they might really have something.

It looks a lot like an Ament highlight reel to me.  No interest in drafting that at 9, but trading Nemby and a 2nd for it?  Sign me up!

Looks like Mavs got a fake second (top 55 protected) as well. Not much on its own, but it's something that can satisfy the touch rule for a future trade.

Mavs have no incentive to lose as we are too talented and too unlucky to land in that top 2 protected status.  At worst this is a 30 win team and I suspect we'll crack 40. Like I said, we aren't done yet so it will be interesting to se if Landlord, Klay, and Martin ever suit up for us again and with whom they are replaced by.

I earlier predicted 42 plus wins this year if we  don’t have another injury year so I agree this team will win more games than many think.

This is a huge component of this deal.
Even if Risacher doesn’t pan out, the Mavs have been collecting non-negative/buy low assets after Nico threw them all in the garbage. In a world where Jalen Brown is traded for Paul George, the Mavs now have enough assets to at least be part of those conversations.

Pretty impressive work from this front office. Let’s what Dusty can do to develop these guys now!

Here's the Locked on Hawks guy reacting. He's pretty good, especially relative to the Locked on Mavs guys, so I guess the whole Locked On network isn't a joke like I assumed. I think this is a pretty reasonable take on the whole situation.

I’m not a fan of Dort but I don’t get the widespread sentiment that is implied when people keep referring to him as a generic undrafted player.
