I thought he was a lock before that first game, but boy was that first game rough.  Has he shown anything to worry about securing him with a 2-way?

I still think Cisse ends up as a 2-way.

Based on what we saw Kao and Green Jr. will get European contract offers. Lawal and Poulakidas will be two-way players. The fact that the Mavs offered Cisse a two-way again, suggests they are either waiting for a main roster spot to open up for Ishchenko or he is going back to Europe. All comes down to the rest of the summer....duh.

My believe is that they´d love to send Klay to a contender, Martin + Nembhard (+ Cisse?) to a rebuilding team and get a 25-27M-ish player back. Sign Ishchenko to a full contract and still have one more roster spot available. That could be Cisse´s spot, if he´s still available in September and it becomes clear that Lively won´t be ready physically any time soon.

None of these two-way prospects excite me. Even the Russian kid, who has a decent first step but about an 8 inch vertical when trying to finish at the rim.

He did hit his first two threes of SL. That might be his only chance although he is a super reluctant shooter.

Sergio is a mix of Rubio and Giddey, we will see if can become a better shooter.

Not sure Poulakidas saved his spot with today’s game. I seriously doubt Seva goes back to Russia. I would rather he be on the main roster, but it seems a 2-way contract is his future.

I genuinely see the core of what they’re building as:

Coop
Kai
Rez
Sergio
Aldama
Sasser
Lively (koff, koff, hire a damned training and medical staff)
Max
Cisse
Seva
Lawal
perhaps PJ
perhaps Naji

Gafford and Klay will likely be available for the right deal. I can see them doing backflips, certainly, to get rid of Martin. Nemby has definitely made himself expendable. Powell lulz. I would love for them to find room for Kao. I think he would stay if they found main roster room for him.

Seva’s defense, passing, BBIQ, and off-ball movement didn’t impress you. Oh well.

Man Sasser ahead PJ, Naji and Christie is so disrespectful...

He’s definitely part of the future. POA defender, decent driver, good 3-point shooter. Max has one of those. PJ and Naji might not be part of their future plans; we shall see. They are currently absolutely better players than most of those others, but it’s the “perhaps” aspect that puts them so low. If they’re still here, they’ll each get more minutes than all but the top three or four.

Goodness gracious, I forgot Tarik. I would slot him above Max for now. He’d have to bust badly in terms of shooting translation and defense for that not to hold. See how many mouths there are to feed here?

I hope not... Our future needs better players.
