Apparently it’s still up in the air where Mavs games can be viewed this season. Anyone have better info than this link?

The picture is even muddier for me since I live out in the boondocks and don't have access to any over air stations that carry the Mavs. I put up with this year after year. I don't mind paying money to view the games. There just aren't any viable venues. I really do search for legitimate methods. But...year after year I end up using those nefarious websites I can't mention on here...or anywhere actually. I hope somebody does come up with a good legitimate way to watch the games--all of the games.
I'd be all over that like warts on a frog...

All non-nationally televised Mavericks games – 70 or more this upcoming season – will be broadcast for free over-the-air on either WFAA (Ch. 8) or KMPX (Ch. 29).

Ugh...I guess I have to get an HD antenna?
It has been 15-20 years since I've watched something "over the air"...is there another way to access that programming I don't know? On Amazon Prime, maybe?

I DO have an HD/long range antenna, but it will not reach Fort Worth, much less Dallas. I will investigate further. I'm 120 miles as the crow flies from Decatur? (I think that's where it stated the broadcast would be from). I'm also on the downhill side of some hills away from Dallas/Decatur. That's another problem. I'm 80 miles from Austin--as the crow flies and can't pick up their stations. Waco and Temple is the best I can do.
When I was a kid, 65/70 years ago, we had a 30' mast with a huge antenna, on top of the house. We could reach Roswell, NM--80 miles as the crow flies. But I don't want to put that kind of antenna on top of my house. Don't think it would work in any case. In my case my wife would be yelling at me, "...get your crazy ass off the top of the house. You're going to fall...".
Maybe I ought to watch the Waco Professional NBA Basketball team. Oh wait...they don't have one! Naw...I've been watching the Mavs since the early 80s--day 1, I think. Not going to quit now.
I will find a solution...regardless of where it comes from.

Wow! I found more information.
The 70 non-national games will also be broadcast from Waco--KCEN/KGAS, Tyler--KYTX, Midland/Odessa--KWES, Abilene--KXVA, and San Angelo--KIDY. This is great! It at least shows that someone is aware of how sparse the broadcasts have been.
I don't know how to put a link on here, but...

What's up Mavs fam. Stopped by to celebrate. I actually thought this was good news for us DFW residents. If the broadcast can be reach via antenna, won't it also be on the same channel through whatever provider you have? I admittedly don't know much about how TV works these days.

I'm all streaming out here in east Texas using Roku. I think the Tyler channel is a CBS affiliate, so it will be interesting to see how many games are actually carried live. Interested in seeing how WFAA manages. That's a lot of network programming getting displaced by 70-ish games carried live.

I have Direct TV. I also get the station, or "a" station that carries the Mavs broadcasts. They are blacked out...in my area...

Given that Bally no longer exists, I think most blackouts are going to be lifted.

Does anyone know how the affiliate stations carry the games? I mean do they put it on the main channel and move regular tv programs to a sub channel or do they put the game on a subchannel. Wondering how that will work. I can get the Abilene station in my area.

Good thread. Better than the ones I usually start. Please keep the posts coming as you learn more. Glad we’re not far away from having something to talk about again, amigos.

Well...I have KCEN, local station out of Waco, on Youtube TV. This gives me some hope. I prefer to watch games--everything actually--on my computer(s). I'm surrounded by 4 large monitors. I watch all videos, including Mavs games, on a 43" monitor, so I do get a good view of everything. I listen to them with a good set of Sennheiser over the ear headphones. I'm hard of hearing and the headphones take care of that. Actually, I have to use the headphones anyway because my wife is hogging the TV and doesn't want any sound interrupting her reality or true crime shows. No, no! I'm the boss of the household...
I think KCEN is the network with the stylized peacock. I guess that's NBC. I liked the old time peacock better. I also wonder how they will handle the basketball games since it will mess up their standard programming. Good thought.
I guess we will have to hide and watch...

I actually have withdrawal symptoms from the game...and the forum...during the off time. It drags...
On the bright side (really!) I get to watch a little bit of the WNBA...it has it's moments!...and bowling.

Bought an HD indoor antenna. Like others I've tried, this one didn't work either. I'm within an area where it should work, but no. Signed up for MavsTV, which is attached to NBA.com. They asked for a service provider. I have HULU, and HULU is not listed on their list of service providers, neither is Amazon Prime, that has the NBA app, so I'm blocked from watching, that way.
Checked my local cable provider for the bare minimum cable package so I can get that one channel over the air. Their list of compatible devices doesn't include the Samsung TV, like I have in my living room. Looks like my only possible work-around is buy a Firestick for my incompatible Smart TV and pay $40 per month for the cheap cable package for that one over the air station available in my area. All so I can watch the Mavs for "free".

I have Amazon prime, YouTube TV, and Direct TV. I've tried NBA League pass. All the "local" Mavs games at home and with any teams anywhere in Texas have always been blacked out--which meant that I could only watch about 1/3 of the Mavs games. And I generally only watch the Mavs play. I will also try a Roku, several of them stored away in the closet, hooked to my high definition antenna (outside on a 10' mast), and hopefully be able to pick up the Waco Channel on my computer. I guess this means I'll need to try that 7 day free trial of MavsTV. If it works...I'll pay. If not....
...I always have the sleazy, slimy, nefarious, unmentionable ways...that have slowly been improving year by year for the last 15 years or so.
Why does the NBA black games out? It's not as if I'm going to drive to the the games and watch. Charge a reasonable amount and make the games readily available online, and on the TV. That will really improve the viewing audience...and STILL fill up the...arena.
I am jumping out of my basketball shorts waiting for the season to start...

Called my cable provider. The bare-minimum local channel level is listed as "$42" per month. I have my internet with them, for $70. According to me, my charge would be $112. Nope. Taxes, fees, "equipment" which amounts to use of the app that I download to my TV, plus various other charges, totals $165. Per month. To watch one local channel that has the Mavs games, I can pay more than double my current internet cost. When they dropped Bally last year from their cable, I dropped them, and switched to HULU Live, and saved $60 per month, and got more channels. That includes "most" local channels but, apparently, MyTV is not the same sort of channel as the major network channels, even though, over the air, it's handled by a local station that carries both CBS and FOX, over the air, but not over HULU. I'm disappointed, but my mind won't allow me to more than double my cost to watch one channel, and get gouged by Big Cable. An app like the Stars have would tickle me to death.
