If they find US players that are willing to buy into an all in team first approach that's obviously an option but just adding player x/y/z for one tournament probably makes them worse.
I agree that chemistry was a large reason for Team Germany's success. So if Germany starts recruiting now, they will have 4 years of reps under their belt... but with even higher quality and better depth.
Look at some of the names I've mentioned. Christian Braun and Dalton Knecht are likely much better Shooting Guard options than Nick Weiler-Babb or Andreas Obst... and Kyle Filipowski will likely be a better player than Maxi Kleber by 2028 too. Tyler Kolek instead of Maodo Lo? All of these are no-brainers.
