Lack of tradeable contracts isn't the problem. But you have to attach something to them. What can the Mavs offer Boston for Williams? Portland for Thybulle?

2030 2nd won't be enough. Do you give up Hardy or Green (I wouldn't) or take back more bad salary?

I think for at least one of those players, the Mavs will take a shot that they don't need a pick at all, by simply negotiating an offer sheet with the player.

And historically, a 2nd is plenty in a sign-and-trade IF the other team isn't having to take bad salary. Depending on the salary for the player, the Mavs should be able to navigate a deal with little to no salary being sent the other way in the snt, for at least one of those guys, and maybe either, if they want to go there.
