Expendable might have been the wrong word. What I’m imagining is Olynyk takes Maxi’s role as a backup big and Maxi is included with Reggie (Allen trade) or with THJ (Ayton trade). 10 becomes 16 and the additions to the roster are Center, Olynyk and pick. Olynyk is basically a placeholder (Summer of Schwartz) until the draft pick is ready to roll.
I don’t have Utah’s exact cap sheet, but trade machine shows them just under the tax if this deal is done in June while Dallas saves somewhere around $12mm in salary and tax.
