Outside of the 3rd quarter rally, what a bad showing from Slovenia today

The crazy part is that within two days the three best players of their teams have been ejected/fouled out during a game seven play-off game situation. Amongst them two of the three best players in the tournament and the best player of the host nation. I wonder how often that has happened in the NBA. Shy

No problems Smile I am not sure why is that, but I am somehow far less emotionally attached to the national team than to NBA season. I guess I can't stand amateur approach, which is why Mavs are also "losing" me...

Slovenia has a top5 player in the world but we put a total no name coach to this team, so I am not that surprised by the end result. I don't think he has any authority and his decisions were questionable. I think he was outclassed both against Bosnia, to an extent against Belgium and of course yesterday. All games against teams that are worse than ours on paper were the same - guys went in as if they will win it easy playing at 50 % strength. No defense, no energy. Against opponent, who is maximally motivated and without any pressure. This is not regular season NBA, where there is always another game and where losses are part of every day play. Almost every game is like elimination here. No second chances. Of course this is to an extent on players, but also on the coach. If he can't find a way to motivate them, than perhaps someone else should try.

Congrats to America for winning EuroBasket. What a bunch of political BS. Lorenzo Brown has no family roots tracing back to Spain at all. He hasn´t even played a single season of basketball in Spain in his fucking life, yet he gets Spanish citizenship specifically for this tournament because they have no PG. He´s basically the only reason they didn´t lose all of their knockout games, meaning the first to Lithuania and go home. The whole point of national teams is that you deal with the card you are handed and don´t sign players, just cause you have a positional shortage. Yes I`m pissed. They should only allow this, if a player has played/lived in the country for at least five years or family ties through a grandparents stage or marriage.

I just realized that one of the most must-see pairings in the NBA next year will be Rick Carlisle and Daniel Theis. For all his good qualities the amount of bone-headed plays, silly fouls and easy misses Theis has very single game is hilarious. We all know Schroeder likes to have the ball rolled forward so he can start the clock near midcourt, but only Theis can manage to roll the ball to a standstill basically at his own baseline. Big Grin

Also hope not to jinx Germany, but Luka must be in pretty bad form to allow Slovenia to lose to Poland.

Oh boy, here we go again maybe (I'm not sure how trustworthy the source is). There's a Bosnian report that Luka and the rest of team Slovenia got wasted before the Poland game.

Here's the original report. https://www.bhbasket.ba/otkrivamo-sloven...a-poljska/

I'm not sure how good the google translate is

Time to start setting the over/under on Luka's weight at the moment he arrives at training camp
