I think he's in the best situation possible. He's Robin and no longer wants to be Batman. He's in a small market-like homer sports media environment. Luka seems to be an ingratiating superstar, making him an easy teammate. The whole roster seems to be filled with good guys, allowing Kyrie to coach and motivate. He feels wanted in Dallas because he is.
