How delusional can you be to look at this situation and blame the ONE guy keeping this team from being the Kings?
The thing I love about Luka is not just his ability but also his spirit. Tatum disappeared when clamped down by Wiggins. Luka still fought and got his points. You will never finish a series and wonder where Luka was unlike with someone like Tatum.
However there is a fine line between wanting to go down swinging and swinging by yourself. It is a team game and putting some more effort on defense, playing a bit more without the ball, genuinely looking to see if your teammates have better shots than Jack bad fadeaways, …etc will help Luka fulfill his potential. He will always have great numbers. So did RW and Hardem at their peaks. Offensive numbers are not the be all end all. I am not one who says efficiency is everything but there has to be a time and a place to jack up a few bad shots.
Most folks have already crowned Luka as better than Dirk. For me Dirk is still the king and the title has nothing to do with it. Dirks rebounding in traffic, willingness to play defense, and unselfish but supremely efficient offense means more. There has to be efficiency and willingness to play hard on both ends. When Luka realizes that, he has the potential to be in the top 5 all time.
