AROUND the NBA: ATL Jumps from #10 to #1 in Lotto| Pistons Mull Firing GM
At least they didn’t give up a 1st round pick for him. Low cost flyer.

Undrafted PG Craig Porter Jr with 21/4/4 7/10 FG 7/7 FT in a Cavs win over the Nuggets.

Steal of the draft. 12/3/9 in an OT win against the 76ers. Making the game winning plays in the last minute. Drive and finish to give the Cavs the lead with 50s left. 76ers score. Drive and dish for a Allen layup with 18s left.
Inbetween game is Brunson-like. Midrange, floaters, even post ups. With nearly flawless decision making.

It is the eve of the first big Wood revenge game show-down, so a certain amount of this is probably to be expected.  I'm not really sure why anyone would decide to poke the bear like this.  Probably not smart.  Karma has already produced an 18/8 game on 6/7 shooting since this was posted.  Just wait till he sees our vaunted D.

I think Dallas worked him prior to the draft.   I can't complain though.  I had Mike Miles as a fringe drafatable guy.  Even though you can argue we don't need another small guard, he was productive in college and still young.   He was a little uneven in summer league.  Good scoring, iffy point guard play.  But I thought he was safe for a to way spot.

Then came camp where he didn't get any play in preseason.   Lost his two way spot, but signed to our G-league team.  I believe he has been injured lately, but he was getting spotty play even before that.   What is the story there?  Was he hurt?  Something else.   I would think it is not common to lose your two way spot and then stick with the G-league team.

That Pacers/Hawks game was bonkers. Pacers 157-152. Defense was optional obviously. Tyrese Haliburton is fast becoming one of the best PG's in the league. Scored 29 pts in the 3rd qtr, after Indy was down more than 20 in the 1st half. Haliburton finished with 37 pts and also dished out 16 assists. Pacers (3-0) advance to the tournament quarterfinals in East Group-A. Hield, Toppin, and Mathurin chipped in 24, 21, and 19 respectfully. Trae Young had 38, Murray 28, and Bogdan 26 to lead the Hawks.

Toppin would have been a nice target for the Mavs. Has his flaws but in a pick&roll heavy offense he is looking really good. Just takes the vision to see how a player would look in a different system.

So then you’ll be “expecting” the continuation of the argument and not replying like you did last time, right? Right?

Why don't we argue about Sean Sweeney for a little while?  He doesn't seem to get enough attention here, positive, or negative.

Maybe he's really the root problem for everything wrong with the Mavericks.

Did you see his body language last game?  A REAL assistant coach would have been a lot more involved.  I think the entire team takes their cues off his energy.

Anyone?  Anyone?

I can call him an ignorant slut if you’d like (boomer reference for those unfamiliar).  I just figure there is zero chance both sides of the great Wood debate will let it go the day of any Laker game (and probably the day before and after).

From my perspective, the Wood snarkiness seems much reduced since our conversation (which of course was the purpose of my response).  Obviously that is good for the tenor of the board.  For instance, it leaves so much more time for the Green sucks and Powell sucks posts (which is so much better Sad )

KP looks so good. Such a shame we did not see him like this in dallas. Time will tell, but Boston has done a great job building their roster that fits perfectly in todays game.

Some amazing games tonight. Saw Orlando beat Denver and nets and Hawks have been great as well. Didn’t even see raptors vs Pacers. High scoring games.

IMO they have the best roster in the NBA.
