I hope whatever they can come up with in the new CBA can walk back some of this player movement empowerment. Just gonna spitball some ideas.
- If a Supermax player forces his way out, contract should revert to a max.
- Maybe add the ability to pay one player on the roster whatever you want with it only counting as the max or a certain percentage of the cap with that contract also reverting to a max if they are traded.
- Need some harsh penalties for tampering, as well as for players that work to force their way out. No more of this “well since they didn’t actually say to the media they demanded a trade we can’t punish them, even though their agent is explicitly trying to make it happen.”
I’m all for players making as much money from these billionaires as possible, just do it in a way where us fans don’t get cheated.
