Not really true. The defensive problems of White/Lavine really come exclusively from playing with each other.
If you keep them apart they are actually doing pretty well "individually".
I did this for a previous season, when the discussion of Lavine came up.
So I went back in for their 2021/2022 season and it´s still pretty much true.
The six Bulls five man line-ups with the best DRTG (>30 minutes together) feature
White in 1, 3, 4
Lavine in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
All those line-ups have a massive overall net positive rating, except the #3 line-up which surprise surprise features White/Lavine together again.
This doesn´t change much no matter how you re-adjust the filters. There is a clear negative defensive(overall) correlation between Lavine/White playing together.
