New Mavs "City" Jerseys Confirmed
#21
The graffiti is tacky...if they had just used a more modern/classic style, it would look good. I'm not looking forward to the future uniforms/rebranding though, I don't trust Cuban. He already said he doesn't want a retro look

I don't really care.  They look fine and different.  As long as they are not in the regular rotation forever, I can deal with it.

Hmmm if they were going for the graffiti look might as well could've made the jersey look "dirtier", e.g., dripping paint look
It's not just the Mavs, though.  Clippers, Rockets, etc are also coming up with City or Statement jerseys that I could've designed in MS Word back in college LOL.

This is all I could think of when I saw the jersey: [Image: E5-E9036-D-7164-43-AF-B5-B5-8-AD546-D334-A7.jpg]

Just imagined Bugs Bunny wearing this cartoonish looking jersey.

If it weren’t for the lettering these would actually be kind of fun.

Its just a bad don't, there are way better options to give it a streetart look.

Now that we know what the Mavs' city edition looks like for this year, what if we tried something very different next season? A collaboration between Dallas and Slovenia. https://t.co/Vf8Dtu85UN https://twitter.com/SkylerinDallas/statu...76321?s=20

I didn't like these at first, but they're growing on me a little bit, maybe because our Statement jerseys are just so blah.

Pros:
- I like green in the design
- I like how the blue transitions from light to dark on the jersey

Cons:
- If going the graffiti route for design, it would have been cool to make it look like there was some paint dripping
- There's something about the shorts I don't like, wonder if they could have done some sort of color fade with that too

Ultimately we just really need a redesign. Things with the look have grown stale and I hope a redesign for the next decade is in the works.

I was totally thinking of this when I saw the Luka in Slovenia jersey pic. Would be cool to do a series of Country of origin jerseys (Slovenia, Latvia, Germany, etc.) with Mavs colors.

Would be funny to get a team picture in the trash bag jersey, just not on the court again for a game.

Honestly I just want to see Luka’s reaction to them. No way it wouldn’t be amazing.

Those Mavs/Slovenia jerseys are dope. International team, international flair ... truly global brand.

Would be awesome to see different collaborations every year e.g. Mavs/Latvia, Mavs/Germany, Mavs/Puerto Rico.

Mavs should start a collaboration with real Madrid. If they are smart they will do it.

There's a 4th grader somewhere that I hope is being compensated for their work.

Trust me, after the Tesla Truck reveal no one will complain about jerseys!

BTW, I like em.  City is supposed to be just that, about city. I love the Heat city uniforms, Miami Vice vibe.

I think you can change them every year too so are not stick with one type.  I love the idea to allow something related to local.

Here is OKC one and its nice.

But I loved the one from last year which paid tribute to Native American heritage:

I like the NBA is trying to allow so many styles.  Likely the manufacturers love it more due to increasing sales lol

Do not like. We should just stick with our white/blue we have been wearing and the skyline version from last year when we want to change it up. Or if nothing else use the original version we had when Dirk was a rookie.

I like the little skyline in the bottom right and the colors are ok. Don't like the Mavs faunt, I would not have guessed it's supposed to look like graffiti if 15th hadn't posted that. THey should have done something over the top like this:

The problem with the gray jersey was how it reacted to sweat... I wish they would have tried a lighter gray/silver, but there was no support for it.

I have one and it is my favorite looking jersey to wear, but I am not wearing it while playing.

In fact it is a similar jersey to the navy uniform (mavericks font) used by Dallas tonight vs Cleveland

I feel like most of the hate the jersey is getting is from the word mark. The letters are way too skinny compared to the outrageous style they’re supposed to be imitating. I found this at the mall and wonder if people would’ve liked it better with DALLAS across the front.

I’m in the minority and actually like the jersey already. The mavs have had such sterile and clean designs over the years. It’s nice to see something fun for once.
