DFS is my vote

If we can vote for Mavs team defense, we should vote for Steph fail as well.

DFS changed the game when the Mavs struggled in the 3rd. Big plays on both ends. Honorable mention for THJ.

I won't do it again if folks don't like it as an option. I just feel like the team D was incredible.

I totally get why Kidd loves him and wanted him in DAL. He is a GREAT team defender.

Who caused Curry's 5-24?

I would vote for just our individual players on the Dirkie but am fine if others like it.  Team D was really good.

I went with DFS, but Sterling's +/- is eye-popping!

The offense still struggles at times, but the defense is starting to look legit. Dallas just held the Warriors to their lowest-scoring game of the season, and it's clearly not a fluke. Honorable mention to Bullock as well, as I though his defense on Curry was terrific.

Luka on DFS:

"Well, I know you guys don't believe me on this, this is every night for him.  Even when he don't get shots, he stays on defense.  I think he's one of the best defensive guys in the NBA.   I think he's a very underrated player and he deserves his respect."

Funny that he forgot to mention that God King isn't a "starting level player" in the NBA.    I need to listen to the national broadcast again, but JVG didn't mention this either.  Maybe it got drown out by all the praise he heaped on Dorian.  But what does JVG know about basketball?

Might have to change my vote from DFS to Luka for putting up 26-7-8.

There were at least 5 players that "could" deserve the Dirkie.  The team played good...but all also had some faults.  I was in a dilemma who to award the Dirkie...until I saw the "team defense."  Though "the five" deserve consideration...I went with the defense.

Obviously there was a lot of luck in that defensive performance.  There is a ton of variance in three point shooting percentage game to game, and if we played the Warriors 10 times they probably would never shoot this badly again.

On the other hand, someone posted that Curry generally has roughly 4 wide open shots a game, and he did not get a single one in this game.  In fact, the Warriors average roughly 19 wide open shots a game and only got 10 in this one (and those 10 were distributed to lesser three point shooters) so the perimeter defense was very good.

As for the Dirkie, its clearly DFS.  He was a big part of that perimeter defense, and his offense was a huge spark in the second half.
