I hope I am wrong but I think the Mavs had a much better shot to win Wed than they do tonight.  I could see a rough outing.  Hope I am wrong, as usual.

I agree. That felt like the getable one to me, too. I hope we're both wrong.

That's crazy.

Do I underestimate Ayton as a paint policeman, or was this just a keystone cops night on the Mavs' part?

Mavs missed some very makeable layups.   Off the top of my head Bullock missed three and WCS missed one.

But I would also say the PHX defense was good.   They did a pretty good job protecting the rim or contesting shots.  Probably not having Luka made things a little tighter for us but I also think the PHX defense was good.

Yeah the layup missing was a combo of pressured D in the moment and incompetence.

It is crazy. If the Mavs had made just THREE of the missed THIRTEEN layups that game would have been completely different.

It's probably calculated in the state but I distinctly remember 3 missed put backs (KP x2, THJ x1).

Bullock probably had the worst missed layup as he coughed on a wide open bunny.

Mavs are 1-0 in revenge games so far this season, let’s stay perfect. Must win game.

Especially since CP3 had a off night shooting the ball. So did Bridges. Is Luka playing? That could be the game changer.

Maybe it´s time to spend a little more practice on finishing under pressure, finishing through contact, mid-range game and floaters instead of 3pt shot after 3pt shot. Or find more versatile/better players. Doncic and Brunson are basically the only two guys, where I expect the shot to go in, if it´s inside the 3pt line. Everybody else I expect them to miss.

I’ve seen enough already to say this:

Win or lose tonight, these two games in Phoenix without Doncic have raised my opinion of where this team is right now.

The team is currently missing three offensive gears too:

1) Superstar Luka.

2) RB's three point shot.

3) DFS's three point shot.

Once things start clicking they should start playing at a top 3 NBA offense level.

And SB shooting better than 18% from three would help too....
