I am assuming that's the plan. If in fact we actually draft a player at #26, that would mean we were not able to use that pick to make a deal for an impact player before draft night. I can't really imagine a Mavs trade without the use of that draft pick. It's better currency than any player we could trade with the exception of Hardaway.
There are other things that could happen on draft night, but I can't think of anything earth-shaking that would be likely when you're picking at #26.
