IF, big if, he leaves, we really don't know the timing of events that led to the Mavs relationship falling apart or Jalen making his decision short of Twitter reports which I'm pretty skeptical of in the first place.
I know it's hard to give the MBT the benefit of the doubt as they certainly have earned the "what can go wrong, will go wrong" reputation. I'm still of the mind that a big contract for him is a mistake or wheel spinning at best, but I've failed pretty spectacularly at projecting him thus far. I think I'd be more impressed by the MBT for not overpaying him but I do appreciate everyone's concern.
I guess it comes down to what you can backfill him on for a budget. Squeeze GPII into the starting lineup and let Dragic and Dinwiddie run the second team, you have more defense on the first unit and more offensive punch on the second.
