Yeah, I like him, but I think he's nowhere close to the difference maker we've convinced ourselves he'd be here. 

He's 28 and has spent half of his professional career on a team that specializes in teaching players bad habits. His mid-range push shot is nice, but he can't shoot. We talk about him like he's this great rim roller, but I honestly doubt he's as good at that as Powell, tbh. He's got the tools to be a good defender, but is he, in reality?

Well it's a good thing the Mavs are now apparently a team that can teach guys to play defense like they've never played before.


I think there are two massive benefits to trading for Holmes:

1) He would likely fit well with Luka, and he makes KP expendable

2) His contract is extremely affordable
