It all depends on how badly Portland really wants to move on from McCullom and what is the competition for him. If Portland would be looking to move on, I think main motivation would be to save money. THJ contract is not really optimal for such a deal, compared to for example Sato/Hart/Hayes offer New Orleans can put on the table.

These are questions we can't really answer. On one hand, its not like we would be giving up a great defender for a bad one. McCullom is certainly an upgrade over THJ. Would Brunson be ok with the 6th man role again? Would perhaps CJ be ok taking that role?
